If you test your CYA levels often buy this larger size. It's a lot cheaper and if stored at room temperature can last a couple years past the expiration date. My last bottle expired in 2022 and was still good this year until I used it up.

We are trying to reduce the CYA in our pool and have a very good Taylor test kit but they only give you enough reagent to run 4 or 5 tests. We definitely needed more and this large bottle was the answer. it seemed to work great and I could refill the little bottles that came with the test kit.

Just so you know, this is only the reagent, this is not the whole test for cyanuric acid levels! We chose to use liquid chlorine and a chlorine stabilizer (cyanuric acid) for our pool this year and we previously purchased a Taylor chemicals kit. This cyanuric acid reagent ran out on the kit so we ordered this large one to make it through the summer. It's very accurate, my pool has not turned green using the results from this reagent to calculate my chlorine and I'm happy to say the price on this size was much cheaper than the smaller sizes. Cyanuric acid acts like a sunscreen for chlorine so it's important to check this so you know how much chlorine to add.
