We really love this food scrap container! There is no smell and that means no fruit flies. We have had stuff in there for 2 or more weeks. We have bought the extra carbon filters which you do not need to change very often. Probably twice since we bought it in 2024. We also bought the earth friendly compost bags. They do disintegrate in the compost pile. This is such a win win. No yucky scraps go in the regular garbage to stink up the place. I would definitely but again, great quality for the price, it is stainless steel, easy to wash up and will probably last forever. The bags we get for it are the 2.6 food scrap bags which I will put in a review for also.

The air filter does let smell through but I fixed it by putting paper towel in between them. The air filters are very thin.

Excellent product, sturdy, and long lasting. Just be aware that the dimensions do not take into account that the lid goes about 1 inch (or more) into the container and you lose that amount of space. We produce quite a bit of compost every week and this means more trips to the compost to the back of the property.

My cousin recommended this brand. My husband and I finally after contemplating composting for 2 years now, we finally pulled the trigger to start. We have a very tiny backyard with a tiny vegetable and herb garden next to the pool. We have purchased a tumbler compost, and wanted something indoors for the food scraps and used coffee grounds. This is perfect!

It has a tacky logo on the lid not pictured in the product photos, and the logo and paint were chipped in several places on the product when delivered. The minimal instructions included have been poorly translated from Chinese to English. There were no instructions indicating how often the filter needs to be replaced, or how it is supposed to be replaced. When looking at it, it appears the two halves of the lid should separate, but they seem to be welded shut, so I guess you just pull the old one out and stuff the new one in and then flatten it out. I'll be surprised if this thing hasn't rusted out within a few months, but I'll give it a go and see.
