The Moroccan flag, adopted in 1915, consists of a black-bordered green pentagram on a red background. Red is a historically significant color for Morocco that proclaimed the royal Alaouite family’s decent from the prophet Mohammad. The color was also used by the Sherifs of Mecca and the Imams of Mecca. Red represents hardiness, victory, strength, and valor. The green, 5-pointed star represents Solomon’s seal. This flag is dyed on silky, lustrous rayon and is hemmed and mounted to a 10 in. black pole that includes a gold-painted spear. Base not included.
