Bandai Hobby RX-78-2 Gundam O.Y.W. Animation Color, Bandai Master Grade Action Figure

Overall an excellent model kit. If you love Gundam (Original UC story line, not all that Gundam SEED and G Gundam bull), then this is a must have. When I originally purchased this product I was under the impression that it had the same internal frame as the Ver. 2.0 Gundam but with different armor. Was I ever wrong, but that was my own fault for not researching enough. Those of you who like the idea of the core block system and a working core fighter will be disappointed to learn that this kit doesn't feature a working core block or a core fighter at all. The internal frames of the legs are definitely the most difficult to just get out of the runners (A hobby knife is recommended, parents be warned!) , though they are very strong and for the most part the small pistons are pre-assembled into the leg frames. But, what this kit lacks in internal detail it makes up for with amazing articulation and external awesomeness. The colors that it is molded in are perfect, but could always be improved upon with the panel lines being filled in with a black Gundam pen. Putting all the warning stickers on and decals also adds to the appearance. All in all this is a really fun model to build and pose but could be improved upon by Bandai with the addition of a core block and a more detailed inner frame.(If you like the armor of the Version 2, go for it!). This kit definitely emphasizes the fact that the RX-78-2 is indeed the Chuck Norris of Mobile Suits. Next for me is the V.2 Gouf so I can do the scene where Ramba Ral loses his Gouf's arms to Amuro and his Chuck...I mean Gundam.

good, my first master grade, bought it back in 2015. pretty tall at 7 inches, was worried for a while that the white was off but found out it was intended. so pretty good.there are 55 joints, 38 of which are for the mobile suits actual articulation.it comes with a beam rifle with moving handle and scope, a shield with the main connection and joint swivel, a bazooka that is only molded in gray but that's fine, two beam saber hilts that can either be stored in the backpack or the inner shield and I has two beam saber effect parts and a mace, the cockpit opens but there is no core fighter and the inner part of the leg frame comes in one whole sprue.over all, I'm glad I picked this as my first master grade as it is probably one of the best I've seen to date. to the date of this being written, I do not have it anymore and I am most likely going to buy the same but the game colors, I can see the two being the same but the game colors having a kind of Afghan feel to the shade it has.over all, good kit. and like I said, it's a good enough kit to actually buy again, highly recommend.

So this model was my return to gunpla after a much younger and stupider me ruined some High Grades in the 90's...You're getting the grandfather of all Gundams here, so it's of course not going to be as flashy as all those SEED contenders (Freedom, Justice, Impulse, Chad...) or whatever else they had by the end of that series, but what you do get is a very mechanical-looking, classic icon of the series. This was actually my first foray into Master Grade, and thankfully I managed not to mess it up. If you've got patience (assembled mine in about 10 hours work with panel lining and dry transfer decals) and a reasonably steady hand, it's not too bad of an entry level MG.My one criticism, if any: the Hyper Bazooka is the only piece (well, pieces, i think there are about six of them that make up the bazooka) that isn't molded in the colors it needs to be to go without paint (you'll end up with a solid dark grey, whereas the tube should be off-white/white).I can't recommend this kit enough, especially for people who thought the RX-78 looks too sleek or simplified from the 1979 anime. This thing is down, dirty, technical, and has more panel lines than you can shake a gundam marker at!

Love this version of the RX-78-2 alot! To s of panel lining and it feels very solid. Definitely wish it had water slide decals instead of the basic decals but you can order the water slide decals for cheap. I would out this up there with the 3.0 version. Very fun build and this animation color version looks way better than the video game color build.

This was the first time I have built one of these models. It was not too difficult, but still took me about nine hours to assemble. The kit includes the following:-RX-78(of course!)-Rx-78's Shield-Beam Rifle-Hyper Bazooka-Gundam Hammer-Two Beam Sabers(sabers included)It was a fun to assemble and I think it is a perfect representation of one of the best Gundams ever made.P.S. Do not build this with a cat in your lap. It does not work well.

this was a fun build, i would totally recommend this to any universal century fan. though the only thing off about this kit is that the jet pack,beam rifle and the hyper bazooka are a soft light purple instead of grey. but overall its a great kit.

This kit was more like a 1/100 real grade kit, so it has more details, and better articulation than your average master grade. It was fairly simple, and the articulation is absolutely fantastic, allowing you to recreate iconic poses such as the final shot, or the one on the box art effortlessly. Many have said this is the best MG RX-78-2 and I agree.

Good model, but if u want a rx-78 model, I would get the 2nd or 3rd editions instead of the OYW, much more detailed for only a little bit more money

Complete kit Recieved ahead of time. The O. Y. W. version is fairly unique in its styling, it is an older kit but it still checks out. Enjoy.
