I needed a cheap black backdrop for one project I am working on; I used to have a really nice thick muslin black backdrop years ago when I did more 'studio' style work, but over the years I sold off all that gear.This backdrop is made of fabric that's significantly better than using a black bedsheet you'd find at a big box store, but it's not as good as a quality, thick muslin backdrop like you'd get at a specialty photography store. It wasn't frayed, it stays relatively smooth after a wash and dry, and the rod pocket is sewn in nicely.It won't last forever, and it's not as deep black or smooth as what you'd get if you pay triple the price... but for the price, this is an excellent value.Also, note that if you want a true black background in your images or videos, it's all about the lighting. In the photo attached to this review (it's me, a self-portrait!), I just grabbed a big box retailer $10 LED worklight, stuck that on a ladder camera left. Then I put a magnetic flashlight feathered at the left side of my head (my right, not camera right), and one more flashlight taped on the ceiling pointed straight down at the top of my head for a tiny bit of hair lighting.It's not the best I could do, but I got this whole thing set up (along with four hardware clamps holding this screen to a beam in my basement) in about 10 minutes with stuff I had lying around. Works great for photos or video, as long as I don't need to freeze motion! (For that, I'd use my off camera flashes and remotes.)

Professionals can skip this review. Anyways... I gave 5 stars bc the quality seems great but for new ppl getting into studio filming PLEASE dont be so happy like my a.... and think this a full backdrop AND stand. Shouldve known it was too good to be true. I simply didnt read, which is rare, but i saw the review photos and was so excited. I hate when ppl give low stars though for their own self-error so I'll just have to charge that one to the game. Turns out its like upwards $50 for an actual backdrop AND stand w/ spring clamps. This is just a black sheet (good weighted quality to it) and a few bar clamps (which are 100% useless without a stand). Unsure if i will return or just buy some spring clamps and attempt to Command Strip them to the wall. Sigh. Excitement depleted!

Love it, has a bit of stretch just a little see through but for the price it’s great.

The media could not be loaded.  Can’t really see the back drop in my video,Sorry about that. But the backdrop was perfect! I read reviews before buying Nd the reviews weren’t great still decided to buy. It was dark not see through. The length was good a big group of people can take a picture in Front of the backdrop.

I love everything about this except for how much light shines through it. I did see other comments about that part so it was not unexpected. I just hung up another blanket behind it and it works fine, just be aware!

I held it up to the light. It isn't as thin as others made it out to be so I am happy. It is not canvas weight but not whispy thin either. Sort of in the middle which is fine. I am not shooting with it outside. I have not shot with it yet but it looks good out of the package. I will probably steam it and then roll it on a fabric roll that I have here instead of re-folding. Over-all looks really really good for the price and I feel it will work for my purposes. Will update if that changes for some reason after use.
