Does the cable have a smaller diameter end to plug into phone Or tablet with case? Diameter of original is to wide to use w case on my phone/tablet.

The 3.5mm phone plug end of this cable is only a hair smaller than the stock cable + adapter. The stock cable terminates into a larger 6.3mm plug and then uses the 2" long adapter to convert to a standard 3.5mm headphone jack plug. This cable ends natively in a 3.5mm plug but includes a screw-on style 3.5mm-to-6.3mm adapter for those who need the larger plug. Because of the screw-on connector the 3.5mm plug still has a large housing and will likely have the same case compatibility issues as the cable that comes with the headphones.

Does this fit the 598 Cs headphones?

Yes, it works with the 598Cs sold by Amazon. Note those cans are black and this cable is more of a dark red and black weaved cord so it looks a bit more brown to my eye, however it works beautifully (I have the 1.2 and 1.5 versions I use with the 598Cs and 598 (original open back cans) and I was absolutely SHOCKED in the difference in quality between these cables and the OEM cables. Often people buy small things, seeking improvement in sound, whether it be cables, DACS, AMPS, etc and I can say with 100% that these cables make the 598Cs come alive. I did not even try the OEMs with the 598 open backs, just ordered one of these replacement cables when I ordered the cans.
