This little screen is incredible! I use it in my car to see the picture from a wdtv (which is also hooked to 2 19" tvs in the back for the kids). This unit is impressively clear and crisp and bright enough for use in bright (indirect) daylight. The menu on the wdtv has quite small text but I can easily read everything (have to squint sometimes because that tiny text is really tiny on a 5" screen but it is clear enough to read)! Movies look fantastic and I couldnt be more impressed with this great value. I bought a cheap 7" indash screen from china years ago that had horrible image quality, so I kind of expected this to suck as much (especially for so cheap) but I was pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it!

This is a handy little monitor. Not top quality, but does the job for the money. A quick warning to buyers in the USA, however... WARNING: This monitor says it has auto NTSC/PAL switching, but the NTSC mode did not work on this model. If your camera or other device supports PAL, you must use this setting. If your device doesn't allow PAL output, then this monitor will not work. REPEAT WARNING: If your camera or other device does not support PAL output, this monitor may not work with your device. When I contacted the seller about the problem, they replied that the monitor was working and that I perhaps needed a different camera device. So, if you plug in your NTSC camera and get a white screen, you will know that the monitor will not work with your device because the advertised auto-switching doesn't work and the seller will *not* refund or replace your not-as-advertised product. You've been warned. You're welcome. If you have PAL devices, the monitor works fine. Have fun!

Bait and switch warning! This isn't a bad monitor, but resolution is NOT 800x480 pixels horizontal as advertised. I've verified this with my physical unit (actual product is approximately half the resolution advertised) and I have verified this with the seller (almost a year ago). It is slightly better than 320x240, but not by much. I would give it more stars except for the false advertising. It does seem to be worth about what they are selling it for. The seller needs to update their description (as I said, I've verified with the seller and they are aware that the product description is NOT correct).

This is a high res monitor- twice the resolution of other monitors in this price range- that works with any camera, or video output that I've plugged it into. It is a high enough resolution that it is comparable to a standard definition TV (800 x 400). I've used mine for a security camera monitor, and a TV for a DVD recorder. It also works well at 12VDC, not just 14.5VDC like when your car was running. The product specs that came with it is says it works from 9 to 32VDC... The base shown in the picture has a sticky backing if you wanted to permanently mount it somewhere, but I've left the backing on mine and just set it on the table. It is able to sit at a good angle to mount it on a wall, or dash or wherever too, and it has a screw to tighten it at that angle for good viewing. It turns off automatically when there is no video signal, and turns on automatically when there is a video signal, and it has a good back lighting. It's a great, small, lightweight 5" monitor!

I put this monitor in the car and have two cameras routed to it, one on each side of license plate pointed at a 45 degree angle so when backing I can see both blind spots. This monitor has two rca jacks for inputs, problem is the monitor will only show one. So here on Amazon there is a device called RCA switcher that has a slide button on top so you can select between three video inputs. I paid $1.89 plus $3.46 to ship it. 480 resolution on 5" screen is really good and 5" is the perfect size.

Purchased from DAWENXI INC fulfilled by Amazon. I did not receive the item pictured and described. ~420x240 (I counted!) NOT Resolution: High Resolution 800*480 pixels (not 320*240) 16:9 NOT Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Black with silver bezel NOT Color: Black The screen works fine. Picture is grainy but watchable. The problem is bait-and-switch,not unexpected from importers, I guess. I wonder how many other reviewers got the low resolution and never noticed. I want to return it and get the 800x480 needed, but no guarantee that will happen.

I had been trying to find a viewing device for a backup camera and originally tried using a replacement rear-view mirror with the LCD display inside. These did not work out because a.) the daylight environment inside the car made it difficult to see the image behind the mirror, and b.) I had an OnStar mirror in my car which is too large to accommodate the clip-on mirrors being sold. This monitor was made for my problem. It provides a great image that is easily viewable in daylight and it is small enough so that I could mount it on the windshield next to the OnStar mirror. There is a photo of my installation in the Customer Images section. Connections are easy, too. All it needs is 12 volts and a video signal. Despite having to ship this item from China, it took only ten days to arrive.

Wenn der Monitor die Signalquelle akzeptiert funktioniert er wie beschrieben. Das Bild ist in Ordnung, Farbe und Kontrast sind gut. Die automatische Umschaltung zwischen den Eingängen erfolgt schnell. Bei bewegten Bildern sind keine Artefakte oder Wischeffekte festzustellen. Aussagen zur Blendfreiheit kann ich zur Zeit mangels genügend Sonne nicht treffen. ;) Auch wenn der Monitor bei "akzeptierten" Signalquellen wie beschrieben funktioniert gibt es bereits mehrere Hinweise auf Retrogaming, Hardwarehacking oder vergleichbaren Bastelseiten die zu Recht diesen Monitor bemängeln. Laut Analyse der Bastlerszene liegt es an unzureichender Firmware des Monitors, das verrauschte oder anderweitig unpräzise AV/CVBS-Signale nicht anerkannt werden. Der Monitor selber bietet keinen manuellen Ein/Aus Schalter, so daß man bei schlechteren Signalquellen einfach keine Reaktion vom Gerät erhält. Bei einem C64, C64/2 und C128 als SIgnalquelle versucht der Monitor, sich einzuschalten, schaltet aber sofort wieder ab. GameCube funktioniert, Amiga 600 hin und wieder. Nicht genügend abgeschirmte oder anderweitig "verrauschte" Signalquellen - auch KFZ-Kameras - sind ein Glücksspiel. Die Ursache ist laut sämtlichen Quellen, die sich mit dem TFT-Controller im Monitor befaßt haben die unzureichend ausgearbeitete Firmware. Patches werden von der Community angeboten, jedoch muß man für deren Anwendung schon sehr im Thema Elektronik verankert sein und die Möglichkeit haben, die externen Flash-ROMs per SPI anzusprechen/neu zu programmieren. Einzelne Filterplatinen bzw. Syncgeneratoren sollen laut übereinstimmenden Aussagen Abhilfe schaffen. Für Retrogamer oder vergleichbare Interessierte sowie Anwender mit "zu schlechten" Signalquellen ist das Gerät also definitiv nicht zu Empfehlen.

Buon prodotto, acquistato per collegare la retrocamera ed eventualmente un lettore multimediale per video e film. Abbinato ad una retrocamera HD le immagini sono ottime. Consigliato. Purtroppo dopo circa 1 settimana ha iniziato alcune volte a non accendersi, sembra un falso contatto, può capitare. Ho provveduto a fare il reso ma ad acquistarne un altro uguale visto la buona qualità dell'immagine.

Super scharfe Bilder

Brought this as a low power screen for my caravan. Xbox 360 works but needs desperate sound system to connect the red and white plugs. Raspberry pi works but needs a HDMI converter to change it to red/white/yellow, but again you need a separate sound system. I brought USB speakers which work for both my raspberry pi and 360. Could do with a on off switch but connected my own. Screen quality is better then expected and can see both my RPs and 360 display without a problem. If these things had speakers in then they would be overly epic. But with the right bits you can have a separate sound system to work with your off grid projects. In the picture I stuck it to a piece of plastic for stability so I can move the screen about instead of a fixed position.

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Bewertungen kann ich sagen, sehr schnelle Lieferung. Ich benutze den Monitor für die Rückfahrkamera. Das Bild ist absolut scharf und Kontrastreich. Ich kann den nur Empfehlen! Immer wieder.
