Q: Is the paint on these dishes raised or flush with the glaze? Also, do they stack easily?

The detailing around the border is raised. The Spanish technique used for the colorful detail is called "slip trailing" and it raised off the surface. The white, black and terracotta in the serving area of the dishes is flat. The dishes stack fine. Not like knock off, cheap machine maade plates, but the plates are efficient stackers.
