LG OEM Original Part: AJH31248608 Dishwasher Sump Assembly

My LG Dishwasher had been running really loud and making a whining noise throughout the cycle... Things finally had come to a head and the dishwasher started throwing an LE error and wouldn't finish a cycle. I had taken it apart and found that the inner gasket was really worn out and loose and two of the plastic posts where the screws attach had actually broken off. I ordered this item to replace the existing assembly, and it was pretty much an exact match. Installation was pretty easy and only took a couple of hours. Now my dishwasher is back up and running and is whisper quiet...

We now have a running dishwasher! Yay!

This replacement part was not a direct swap for my LG model LDS5811ST. The shape was slightly different on the underside making the tab that screw on to it that hold it in not fit. I had to trim and modify them slightly to make the screw holes line up. There was also one electrical connection that was not in the same place and was located on the opposite side of the assembly. Luckily there was enough wire to be able to reach. The part did work but it was not a direct swap. I agree to watch a video before you start as it will be helpful.

It was a fun chore replacing this on my dishwasher, but I saved the appliance and it works as it should. Perfect fit.

Dishwasher was howling due to a failed bearing. LG website identified the P/N needed, YouTube had the how to fix video. The replacement was pretty straightforward plus the part cost was less than buying direct from LG.

Saved a ton of money by purchasing this sump assy and doing the repair myself. The item was shipped quickly. It was a chore to get it seated properly but persistence paid off. Use plenty of rinse aid as a lubricant on the included gasket to get it seated and look for the youtube video on how to replace a sump assy if you're not a professional repair person.

This rejuvenated our dishwasher and fixed the problem we saw with food particles dried into the dishes. Much cheaper than a new SS unit. it took 2 hrs for me to swap this unit. look on you tube for videos..
