Snapware 20 piece Tempered Glasslock Storage Containers with Snaplock Lid , Microwave & Oven Safe

I bought a set of these containers from Costco few months ago. we were about to move to a bigger house so I knew I should get a 2nd set but I didn't at the time. sure enough by the time we moved costco no longer carried the item. They had a similar glasslock product by pyrex but i noticed right away the poorly designed flaps-they didn't secure very tight. so i camo to Amazon, payed double the price and ordered myself a 2nd set. I'm so happy with these containers to this day! They're durable, the flaps seal your food airtight and it lasts a lot longer that way. These containers are my preferred choice when it comes to preserving food in the fridge. mespecially if it's a cooked meal you'd like to take out of the fridge next day, place in the oven and then you can even eat straight from it! we don't microwave, so we really abuse the glass temperature wise! well, all I can say is-this is 1000times better than any plastic container or a ziplock bag. The design is cute, they look great in your fridge, the shapes and sizes are just right. the only advice i can give is-if you're a family household get at least 2 sets. it's just me and my husband and I notice we use almost all of them. If there were kids we;re talking packed lunches etc, etc...you'll just need more than just 1 set of containers.

We were looking to replace our very old set of plastic Snapware containers and wanted to upgrade to tempered glass. These are not from the official Snapware brand, but they are an excellent product. They are rugged (dropped them a few times with no breaking) and seal up wonderfully every time with zero leakage. Love that you can store anything in them without staining the containers, and they do great in the dishwasher and microwave. The only downside is their weight--each piece has some heft to it--but that is the price you pay for their almost indestructible quality.We found that 20 pieces (10 containers & 10 lids) just wasn't enough and bought a second set soon after the first. They stack together beautifully in the cupboard, and we've been able to discard almost all of our plastic food storage containers in the bargain.

I like the fact that the containers are glass and the entire set is dishwasher safe. I've had these for a couple of months now and use them for taking food to work and storing leftovers and other foods in the fridge. They still look like new after 2 months of being cleaned in the dishwasher (we use Lemi Shine dish tabs which I find are not as harsh and clean effectively without fading). Lids go in the top rack and glass goes in the top or bottom rack. Containers are microwave safe but lids are not so you'll need to use a separate cover. Yes, lids can be a little tricky to get on at first but you'll soon learn that closing flaps on opposite sides together, using the top of the palm of your hands, works best. They click and seal really well. Great storage containers!

I did a lot of research before purchasing these glass food storage containers. I made the transition to glass from plastic because I reheat my leftovers in the microwave, and do not like doing so in plastic. Therefore, I used to take the leftovers out of the plastic containers and put them in a ceramic dish. Double the cleaning!These glass containers suit me perfectly. The glass is thick and looks to be chip proof because the rims around the top are thick - not fragile. They are sturdy all around. The tops are brightly colored green and the snap locks are easy to open and close, but create a good seal. There is a removable rubber lining in the inside rim of the lid, which creates a tight fit. I am not sure if this rubber will erode with time - especially if you consistently put them in the dishwasher. Time will tell. However, for the moment, I am very happy with this product.

The largest container here doesn't fit as much left overs as you need. Some meals I have to use a couple just to get he food put away. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a larger glass set, but for now, these will do. Other than the size issue, I adore these containers. I am going to try to see how they perform in the oven and etc, but they wash just fine in the dishwasher and really keep foods fresher for longer. I love how easily they store as well. ******UPDATE******* Something WONDERFUL about these is if you purchase a set of Expo markers, given that these are glass, you can write the date and contents on the side without worry and it wipes right off! No more guess work with your leftovers! Also, INCREDIBLY easy to keep clean! It's basically almost revolutionized how we store our food. :)

I was hesitant to buy this based on some of the reviews but I have to say, I'm happy that I did. I feel like I have had the opposite experience of all the bad reviews. The first day I had them (and many times since then) I have dropped them in the sink because I'm not used to washing slippery glass and I haven't had any chips or breaks. And I don't find them particularly difficult to snap shut; most of the time it's very easy but sometimes I have to use a downward motion to get them to snap but even then, it's easy. The gasket comes out of the circular lids pretty much every time but it's easy to put back in and the same thing happens with my Rubbermaid set, also. And lastly, somebody mentioned that some of the sizes are too small. I actually wish that there were another one or two small ones. I use them for condiments and salad dressings to bring to work and would like more than one.

I bought this since we are doing so much cooking at home due to my wife's and I decision to go Vegan and already being Gluten Free. Anyway, the fact that these are BPA free and glass was a big attraction. THe lids are definitely air tight if you can close them. We have had them for a month or so now and they do seem to be getting easier. I think as the gasket softens a bit, it makes the closing better. I still do most of the closing for my wife. My recommendation is to be forewarned and to build up some upper body strength :) Seriously, after a month or so, it will get better with regular use. I have no other issues with this.

As a fanatic who detests storing food in plastic containers, I am happy to find this collection of high quality glass storage ware. I do wish there was another collection available in bigger sizes. The snap lids are very secure, air tight, and the glass is tempered so makes for a very durable container. I use these predominantly for storage of leftovers, but must note they keep cut fresh vegetables extraordinarily well. Pricey, but worth it.
