Splendid little radio
Nice compact stereo radio, easy to navigate menu/modes, internet connectivity etc. Sound is a little boxy but for the price it's well worth the money.

Beware if wanting to use batteries only...
I bought this for internet radio, as an alarm clock, and since it uses batteries. Ideal! Not so...Turns out that when using batteries, you can't put it into standby (with the clock and alarm set). It must be on USB power to display the clock screen and have an alarm set. So that's that idea out the window... If it comes to it, I could use a USB battery bank. While it doesn't do Spotify built in, you can use Bluetooth to play Spotify and podcasts from your phone. Yes, you can search and add podcasts to the radio itself, but a lot of podcasts are missing and custom podcast feeds can't be added either. You can add custom radio feeds.Really, for adding radio stations, adding podcasts, setting favourites, etc. You're as well either using the UNDOK app (Android) or the website Airable.fm (the radio gives you a random code for signing up to Airable). All in all, for the money, it's a good radio, but:PROs:- The fact you can use an app/site to set the favourites is a bonus as it's quite fiddly to do on the radio itself- I also like the sleep timer as I often use podcasts to help me get to sleep- Sound is pretty good- Display is good and shows different info on pressing the i keyCONs:- Requiring USB power for clock and alarm is a major disappointment- Adding the WiFi password is a pain as you need to use the wheel to scroll through the lower case, upper case (no shift key), symbols and numbers to put in your password. It would have been better to use some of the function buttons as arrow keys to move up/down left/right

Does it all
It does the lot, FM DAB INTERNET and BT speaker.Love this little RadioOnce I worked out that the large rotary knob pushed once turned it on and a five seconds press turned it off we were away.Internet Radio ..Los Angeles has a Disco Station and Alice Springs has a local Radio.DAB has 4extra with old programs that are a joy to hear. This Radio is a little complex but is a quick learn.

Slight UI niggles but overall a great buy, good on energy use
Very happy with it, wanted something for the desktop when working from home that also has Bluetooth for Teams calls (my webcam does the microphone). Really easy to set up internet radio, I used WPS and took seconds. Linking to my phone I was impressed that details of the YouTube video I was playing came up on the radio display. Sound quality is absolutely fine for what it is, a very compact radio, not unpleasant or tinny but obviously not really deep bass. NOTE ON POWER: The USB socket on the back says 5v 2.0A. I tested the current and at normal level it uses around a tenth this, rising to about 0.5A if you turn it up full and uncomfortably loud. So any 1A USB supply should be fine, and with current electricity prices it's good consumption is low. With the usb plug I use it is taking 0.9w on standby, 1.5w at a moderate level and around 3w turned up full. On battery, get decent NiMH rechargeables which could give up to 10 hours of use. It can drain a fair bit of current so alkaline not really suitable.Slight UI niggles, for example after listening to a podcast then going to DAB preset it still says Podcast at the top and the text information on the radio show isn't shown. Going to the menu with the 5 modes and reselecting DAB corrects this, hopefully a future update will rectify.

Faulty software and disappointing sound
Had high hopes for this but was utterly disappointed. After setting up (which was quite a pain) I selected a couple of stations from Portugal which worked fine although the sound quality even on a fast fibre connction was not particularly good via the speakers but ok on headphones.I then tried to select other European stations from the countries menu but this did not work and the system reset itself regularly, e.g. when asked to list German stations.Tried a factory reset and checked for software updates (system showed latest software installed) but nothing changed. So it went back the next day.Needless to say that I will not buy another 'Pure' product!

Bedside radio that does everything
The PURE ELAN CONNECT+ seems to be the only reasonably priced fully featured radio you can use as a bedside alarm clock. Reception on airborn radio is increasingly tricky, so internet radio, so long as a strong WiFi signal is available works very well. The sound is not audiophile quality, but access to world radio stations without interference and with 2 alarms, easy to use sleep function and plenty of user presets across all bands, this is great value. Only downside is the non-dimmable, but full colour screen which is a little bright for sleeping. DAB and FM both function well on strong stations, but this is not guaranteed inside buildings or at distance from transmitters. Bass and treble, audio streaming quality and many other functions can be adjusted, and there is direct access to podcasts. Double the price will often not get so many useful features.

It’s good, but…
The Good: It’s a nice little unit with a clear display, easy to set up and stereo sound is more than adequate for a kitchen, which is where we now use it. BTW, we had to buy a separate, quite cheap, mains power brick in order to use this without batteries. The Bad: If you use it with batteries the attrition rate is atrocious. We originally used this in the bathroom, and often the radio would conk out, drained of power. We were recharging batteries and swapping them over far more often than we thought should be necessary. There are three buttons to set preferred stations. Only two of them will hold the setting once the unit is turned off. Lastly, the unit will not hold time settings and for some reason after midnight reverts back to the time originally set, before clocks went forward in the UK.Summary: A decent-ish gizmo, if you are willing to overlook the shoddy software, questionable hardware and lack of supplied mains power. In the words of the immortal Roy Walker “It’s good, but it’s not right.”
