Great low-cost solution to keeping litter in place, especially if you need a pan that'll fit inside of a litter box cover!
Great litter pan at a great price! I've been using a roll-a-way litter box for years, but upon needing a temporary litter pan option for my kitten recovering from neutering, I picked one of these up from my local Wally World... next thing I knew, all three of my boys were just sitting and chilling in this litter pan (with its fresh layer of clean litter) in turns. After visiting my parents and getting them set up with a litter box cover, I decided to get rid of my old reliable roll-a-way litter box, and set myself up at home with this pan and the much more elegant-looking Trixie Pet Products Wooden Cat Home & Litter Box, Brown that this pan fits perfectly within. I'm now all too happy to have friends and family come visit because no longer are they confronted with a big, not-so-clean-looking rolling litter box and nothing else to polish up my bathroom. With the high back of this litter pan comfortably housed in my litter box cover, I can now use the cover to lay out magazines and other knick-knacks on an end table-like cover, with a litter box inside that is dirt cheap, and just as effective as my previous litter box. Yes, it requires a bit more work on my part to clean this one out, but it's a few minutes more of nightly cleaning, with a much lower profile litter box. As a side note, I bought the comparable Van Ness CP5 Sifting Cat Pan/Litter Box with Frame, Assorted Colors , which I now keep stacked under the bottom layer of this one (and, FYI, since the pictures make it hard to tell, the entire bottom of the sifting pan is perforated like the holes you see in the picture. I wasn't sure of that when I ordered it, so hopefully that little tidbit of information helps others decide on it). Sometimes I use the sifting pan to dump the used litter from this one into, sometimes I just leave it sandwiched in between the pan layers. It really doesn't make much of a difference in the time I spend cleaning this one, so either option should be fine for the happy feline owner. The sifting version will run you about ten bucks more, which is over twice the price of what this basic version will cost you, so if you're looking for a low-cost but effective solution to keep your cat litter where you want it, this is your best bet.

Worked for my kitten.
We adopted a 5-week old kitten who quickly grew out of the small kitten litter box I purchased. I still needed a smallish litter box for her because we were still keeping her in an office but needed a bigger one than we were using. This litter box is listed as "large" and as other reviewers have stated, it is anything but large. That being said, I knew that going into it, and purchased this specifically for its small-medium size, litter guard, and low front. My kitten loves to dig and kick the litter out everywhere. This litter box was perfect for my needs, especially for the price. I didn't want to spend a lot because she'll only be this small size for a short time. This really ended up being the perfect size and the guard keeps the litter in the box. There are two holes on either side to attach the guard to the box more securely. No hardware was included but I just used small zip ties and that worked fine. I would definitely purchase this box again for this purpose. It's great for kittens!

Good for Small Baby Kittens Only
It was great for training. I took off the grey guard so that he could easily get in and out. I got him at 6 weeks. He is now 7 weeks and fully potty trained. He is bigger and stronger. And I only got about a weeks worth. Because now when he digs to bury, he kicks and the litter goes flying out on the floor. He has In My opinion out grown this. I would recommend this for kittens less than 6 weeks. This is a great starter kit however my kitten can no longer use this. I now have put the grey guard back in to buy me a little time till I can order a large full adult litter box with complete enclosure for my baby boy kitten.

Much better than my old one
Last year, I got a cat. Now, I have a gazillion cats. Litter boxes have become very important features in my life. Who knew that would happen? This one and it's "lid" are so much better than an old Amazon box that I had cut down to size. This is high enough to keep MOST of the litter in the box, even when Mr. High-stepper gets on a tear and kicks it willy nilly. It attaches and detaches very easily too. Bonus points for that! It's plastic and can be really scrubbed during full changes. It does seem to hold some odor so I let it soak overnight. I have no idea if that helps because I don't have a sense of smell. I have 7 litter boxes so I always have one out of rotation being cleaned and soaked. They clean up easily so you don't have to do this step but I'm paranoid about smell. I don't have a super large cat so I can't speak to size appropriateness but my biggest is a leggy 12 pound beast and he fits just fine. I also have 5 week old kittens and they climb over the wall and use this box equally well. One note, and this is just me spitballing here, clumping litter is harder to clean out of this box. I'm not sure why but it does take just a bit more elbow grease. Not a lot, just worth mentioning.

If your cats make a mess, get this box
I have 3 of these now. If your cats like to make a mess in litterboxes, by maybe being a little too aggressive when burying, this big, high sided box is what you need.

Definitely not large
Cheap, works, but only for kittens unless your cat is a munchkin. Litter gets kicked everywhere. Works flawlessly until they are about 12 weeks then you notice it is too low even with the hood on…then at 16 weeks it’s worthless in my opinion All cats deserve the biggest box you can provide in your room

Easy for cats & humans
My elderly cat started having mobility issues. She would often “overshoot” the cheap 4” litter box & could no longer climb in & out of the enclosed box. Unfortunately, my other cats claimed this one for themselves. Yes, all 3 of my younger cats ditched the enclosed box for this one. Luckily, I have very large (36”x24”) absorbent litter mats for when I had to get the cheap 4” box back out for my elderly kitty (20yrs old). I’ve found this very easy to scoop & clean. Sure, there are tiny cracks between the raised attachment and the box - that’s evident in the product photos. I haven’t had any problems with cats “leaking” through them. As far as the reviews that say the bottom is ridged? I checked mine upon arrival and it was smooth. There’s only been a feeling of ridges when urine gets stuck to the bottom. My younger cats may not overspray with the box but one of them is overzealous with covering everything and will leave a pile of litter just outside the front of the box. I just sweep it up in a dustpan and dump it back in the box. Great box, just wish my younger cats would’ve let my elderly cat use it..
