Use the correct size target drive.
I have a 1 TB (1000 GB) hard drive that I wanted to clone as a bootable backup. The first SSD that I bought with this unit was listed as a 1 TB drive. Turns out it only had 960 GBs. I tried copying the drive, it took over 5 hours to complete. The target drive was not bootable, although checking the drive it had copied most of the files. I returned the first drive, and made sure that the new drive had at least 1000 GB's. It took less than 2 hours to clone, booted up perfectly and is faster and runs better than the original hard drive. Save yourself some time and make sure that your target drive is equal to or greater than the source drive. You won't regret buying this docking station. Very easy to use and a great deal at this price.

Great value, does what it says, super fast delivery
If you clone hard drives and SSDs in order to preserve data and files, this is a very good solution. I tried it out in "Solo" mode, not connected to a PC, and it took a little over an hour to clone a 1TB hard drive to a 1TB SSD. This was for an old Windows Vista operating system, which can be a pain in the neck if you try cloning it on a PC with a modern version of Windows. No big deal, no issues. It just did what I wanted. The "light show" at the base of the unit seemed like over-kill, however, it also shows if the data transfer is going smoothly. Super fast, one day, delivery by Amazon. Highly recommended.

Pretty good, I think?
I have a couple of drives docked in here which I use to transfer large video files from a small laptop to my main computer. For the most part, it works great! At one point, however, a few files became totally corrupted and a drive became unreadable. I have no idea if this was because of a faulty data transfer, or somehow improperly being ejected despite my best efforts, so I can't blame the dock entirely - but I've never had this happen before. Fortunately, the one-button clone option saved most of the files and put them onto a second drive. A few files never recovered but it was way better than nothing. I left the process running overnight and it never seemed to finish so I had to abort it, but the files were there anyway. Again, no idea if this was because the drive went bad after docking it here, or it was something else. After that, however, everything has been solid. Fast enough transfers, pretty solid even though the drives have a ton of wiggle room.

Longevity is bad - 3 month life span
I used it once in April. It worked fine, then June 1st I tried it several times and it didn't work. I've had a Calvary make for about 7 years and it still works fine. It doesn't look like Amazon carries the Calvary make any more or I would have purchased another. I definitely don't recommend the Inateck. I have to apologize. After reading the manual and trying again it works fine. Give me a break.......I'm 87yrs old and sometimes a little foggy minded.

Works as excepted!
I appreciate the development of this resourceful device. It not only clones HDD and SSD, it’s also a useful External Hard drive docking station. I appreciate the offline and online cloning which also delivers ease of use. The nicest thing about this device is the RGB colors that illuminate as well, which makes ir mad nice to appreciate even more. This is mos def worth your money!

A "NUCLEAR BOMB" FOR DEALING WITH HACKERS AND "GLITCHED" HARD DRIVES.
I"ve used "cloners" for years when replacing "glitched" hard drives and obviating hacker intrusions. Moreover these units are useful for "renewing" well-used hard drives or for upgrading from older mechanical drives to the newer SSDs (Solid State Drives) without reworking the entire system. Just set up your "master" drive and use it to clone "working" drives as needed. If you want to ensure that you haven't gotten hacked or have surreptitious "back-doors" and key-loggers installed by shadowy individuals who do that for a living, just re-clone your drive from the "clean" master every few weeks to enjoy glitch and hack-free computing. This particular unit is both cost effective and very simple to operate. Just drop in your master as the "source" and your working drive as the "target", start the unit and go. Indicator lights let you know the state of activity without complications or "head scratching"!

Looks good, works fast
I connected it to my Mac Mini and works with fast data transfer rates. I use it for my storage drive of family videos, photos, ect. I use the second slot for my Time machine backup of my OS. The bottom has nice LED’s and the ability to hot swap drives for fast copying of drives is great. The drives stay connected and the led on the top shows drive activity. It’s a great item and adds a little flair to my Mac setup.

I bought a slightly earlier version of this in 2017 and have used it daily and continuously with 2 6tb drives as my main storage and backup for my photos. The original has been running 24/7 for 4 years without a hiccup. I just bought a 2nd one and now have 4 6tb drives attached. The cloning feature is possibly a bit clunky.- normally I backup by using SuperDuper on a Mac through the docking station from the main drive to the backup - but with the new one I thought I'd try the cloning option. Cloning a 4tb to a new 6tb drive was very slow - but it worked. For the price this is extraordinary - With 2 of these I have 2 x 6TB drives which store my media plus 2 x 6tb drives which serve as backups all attached to my iMac via 2 of these. If you organise a systematic backup system - this is perfect. Can't recommend it enough.
