What is this thing? I found one on the car I just bought

Hello Brandon, Thank you for contacting the Amazon Marketplace of atlasRFIDstore with your inquiry. The Smartrac Dogbone tag is a Passive UHF tag. It requires an RFID reader in order to be read or activated. It is commonly used in race-timing. Runners will wear the tag on their bibb and an RFID reader will read them as they cross. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or RFID needs. Sincerely, Casey Craig atlasRFIDstore
