Not only does this collection have blades branded specifically by Gillette, but Astra is also owned by Gillette. (So is Wilkinson Sword, if you find those in other collections).However, I'm extremely pleased with this pack -- Astras included. I found that Feather was my personal favorite, providing a shave on a molecular level that renders my 5 o'clock shadow as merely a 4:48 o'clock shadow.

I have been shaving with a Gillette Fatboy for years. I've used Gillette and Feather blades, because I started on them back then. Always wanted to try different blades, since different brands tend to have different characteristics. But can't really just buy 50 or even 100 of the same blades because what someone else likes may not agree with my skin, my beard, or just the way I shave. This package with 10 top brands is the perfect sampler I've been looking for. I'm going through different brands now starting with ASTRA. In the end, if I found something I like more than what I have been using, that would be great. And even if not, I'd have the peace of mind knowing I have been using the best blades for me. Very happy with this sampler pack.

I recently got into wet shaving and am on the hunt to find the right blade. Overall, this is a nice way to try out different brands and not feel obligated to commit to one brand as if you bought multipacks of only their blades.Pros:-Wide variety of razor blades to try-This is a cheap way to find the razor blade that works best for you without spending big money.-Package comes with 100 blades. This supply can last for at least 6 months.-Some blades are packaged with built in disposalCons:-Not all razor blades are created equal. You will learn that when switching blades and trying out different brands.-Not all blades are packaged with built in disposal. Not a huge deal, but it is nice when you can easily and safely separate used blades from new.-Some blades leave a gooey residue once removed from the packaging

My only issue with this pack is there were only 9 actual types of blades included. It had 20 Feather blades, a yellow 10 pack and 2 black 5 packs (the yellow and black only indicate the size of the pack, they have the same blades). That being said, this pack is fairly representative of the variety of blades out there, from the mild Sharks to the incredibly sharp Feathers. This is a great way to try everything out and get an idea of what kind of blade works for you.

Just so there is a basis for comparison, I am using a Merkur razor and Cremo Original shave cream for all of these blades. I will use each one for five days, unless they are horribly dull.So far I have only tried four of the sets, but I will try to update this reviewThe Feather blades are wonderfully sharp, and I can get five days out of them.The Personna Platinum Chrome were duller day 1 than the Feather on day 5, and didn't shave as closely.(more to come.)I just tried the Dorco Titan -- really favorably impressed. It seemed as sharp as the Feather, but I felt I got a closer shave, This is currently my favorite blade from the pack.The Perma-Sharp is a nice blade. I like the Dorco Titan and the Feather a bit better, but a nice solid blade.The Derby Extra was an okay blade. It cut smoothly, but not as closely as the Feather or the Dorco Titan. If there were three tiers of blades, it would be solidly in the middle tier.
