Perfect for old engines!
It's oil with all the right dinosaur juice needed for an old engine designed before the fancy new oils and gas were available. I use it in my 1966 Ford Thunderbird with a 428 FE engine

Great Oil
I have always trusted Valvoline for my hotrods and the price is so much better than the box stores. It has the zinc needed for classic cars.

1979 7.0L 425ci with VR1
Switched over to this oil about 2yrs ago after doing a ton of research. My Cad 425 has flat tappet's so the Zinc is crucial and it eliminates me needing to purchase separate zinc additive's. I've had no issues whatsoever since using VR1 so I'm sticking with it.

Fine if you catch it at the right price...
This is a fine motor oil. Watch the price carefully, though. You can find it elsewhere for less and this seller keeps the price going up/down like a yo-yo. Poor business model unless you're a sideshow artist. Don't overpay for it.

If you’re riding an old bike with flat tappets and a shared primary. This is the oil for you. Heavy zinc to protect your cam and no garbage to make your clutch slip. Been running this in my 1966 Triumph 650 for 10 years trouble free. It doesn’t even leak, but I can’t guarantee that for your bike.

Motor oil has just boomed in price, this price all be it high is not bad considering what you get. You need no additives for your solid lifter of hydraulic lifter non roller cam engine, this has all you need, no diluting with additives affecting the other components concentrations. I am impressed with Valvoline and how they test and improve their products. See utube video out by the motor oil geek and is trip to Valvolines R&D facility in Lexington.
