Good quality nozzle. Holds up.
I bought this fireman style hose nozzle several months ago after researching and reading many reviews before making my decision to buy this particular one. I waited a long time before reviewing because I wanted to give it a lot of use before recommending it. In the past, I have not had good look with hose nozzles because some were aluminum and corroded, some were brass and were damaged easily if you dropped them, some were hard to turn to adjust the spray and some did not fully shut off and leaked. We seemed to be buying new hose nozzles almost every year because most are just not made to last. The reason I chose this hose nozzle was because of the following:1) Since the threads are brass I knew it would not corrode and get stuck on my hose2) The rubber grips looked they would protect the nozzle if it is dropped (which I have done many times with no damage at all)3) It looked easy to turn to adjust the spray and turn it off.4) Chrome plated brass is always the most durable and used in the highest quality plumbing fixturesOver the last several months I have put this nozzle through a lot of use, dropped it many times and it has never let me down. It has a fully adjustable spray that is perfect for every use that I could imagine. It is great for washing windows. I have even left the water spigot on over night with full water pressure in my hose and the nozzle has never leaked all night long. It is not featherweight but that is a good thing. You can feel the quality construction with the weight of the solid brass with chrome plating and the smooth turning to adjust the spray with the thick rubber grips.Happy with my decision.

Out of about a dozen types of "fire hose nozzles" offered on Amazon I believe that this one has the best build quality...
First off I wish to acknowledge that I am not a professional reviewer just a frequent customer of Amazon.I recently spent a little time reviewing hose nozzles and garden hoses and hose carts to purchase for my 75-year-old mother in California and I settled on this hose nozzle because of two main reasons, The first being the "build quality"I have found at least a dozen "fire hose nozzle" types for sale on Amazon that pretty much look-alike except for color and the difference in the rubber or "plastic" that surrounds the nozzle but some of the other ones that I believe are much cheaper made either did not have any warranty offered or a very short one and the others I had seen for sale on Amazon were made of plastic or aluminum in there core or a combination of both but I wanted something that had the best build quality and this is the only one that I seen for sale on Amazon that is built of solid brass in construction that I believe is chrome plated overlaid by a rubber grip. The second most important reason I chose this style of hose sprayer is that my mother being 75 years old I wanted to get something that would be easy for her to turn on and off and handle since she has arthritis. After my mother had received the new hose nozzle she had commented to me that she was completely blown away by the quality and the amount of high pressure water that it produced for she has said that she thinks that she was able to focus the stream to spray over 35 feet in distance but of course this was just a guess on her part but in any case she seems to be very thrilled about the build quality and ease of use.At least in my mother's opinion this is a fantastic product.Thank you very much and have a wonderful day.

Weak water flow, and broke after 3 uses (after it was dropped)
This hose nozzle is solidly built, and works great. It's not some cheap piece of plastic, like other nozzles I've seen. I've already dropped it once onto pavement and it still works fine, so it's durable for klutzes like me. This seems like it will stand the test of time. If not, I will edit and update my post!My only complaint: as other reviewers have mentioned, this nozzle also doesn't have the water power that other ones do. It does seem to have a weaker water flow than the cheapie add-on nozzle I purchased at the same time. I do have to switch to the cheapie one to get a stronger, longer stream of water for places my hose doesn't reach. However, I do like using this nozzle for watering things like trees and big bushes, and I can really soak the ground by just laying it where I want because I don't need to grip it or hold a handle down to keep the water flowing.EDIT: I used this hose nozzle three times before it broke. The middle part where the on/off valve is located broke apart from its base, so now it looks like it was cut in half there. Ironically after I used it the first time I had written that I had dropped it and it still worked. And it did! Well, it broke after the second time it fell: it fell off of a low retaining wall, which is about 2 feet tall when I set it on the wall to water some large bushes. After I shut the water off at the faucet the decrease in water pressure in the hose kind of shrunk it and pulled it all back, including the nozzle, and it fell. So I guess it wasn't that durable after all. On a more positive note: the $5 "add-on item" nozzle I got as a back-up works perfectly. I'll just buy another one of those if/when the one I have breaks or stops working.

easy to operate
The nozzle is solid feeling and easy to operate and does not leak even on a higher pressure hose. I have used it both on a regular house-level pressure hose and on a higher pressure hose directly off a one-inch meter. On a regular faucet (house pressure), the nozzle is good for plants -- lots of water, continuously varying spray settings, and moderate pressure. On the higher pressure line, the nozzle is good for washing cars and moderate window cleaning (does not replace a power-washer). The nozzle does turn off by moving to the narrower, higher pressure stream; however, I have not found that mechanism to be a problem. The shape prevents it from catching on plants or ground cover.I have tried handle and lever type nozzles, and this one is better than any other type I have tried. I found I was moving this nozzle from hose to hose, so I ordered more. If it lasts like it feels it will, this nozzle would definitely be a 5-star.I have not used the nozzle long enough to describe its durability.
