Cats don't have enzymes to break down carbohydrates.** A: I agree with the question. The typical response of there being veg in the stomachs of the prey cats eat does not take into consideration that the prey itself (not the cat) has the digestive enzymes to break it down. So a bunny has the enzymes to break down the carrot it ate and the cat consumes both. On its own, the cat is a carnivore. The grass they sometimes eat is a roughage, not for meal. **Q: What % protein? Thx** A: 37% protein. If you want more information you can either look at their website www.openfarmpet.com or call. Their # is 1-833-399-3403. (toll-free) They are based in Canada. **Q: is this freeze dried or dehydrated...or just kibble?** A: This is dry cat food (kibble). **Q: What is the ash and magnesium percentage found in this food?** A: I don't know. Human grade ingredients! *by on Reviewed in the United States July 29, 2026* I used to buy Purina Beyond, but since it was discontinued I worried for my picky eater cat because she refused to eat any other food to the point of needing vet intervention. Well, I put some of this in my hand like I do for her treats and she ate it right up! She loved the taste so much so I Have started the transition and she’s doing well with no gastrointestinal issues (she also has a sensitive stomach and is 12 years old so the fact she was open to this new food at all was amazing). We are at 50/50 with this and her old food and she actually eats this side first which was my big sign that this worked out so well. I love that this food is humanely sourced and human grade ingredients with no byproduct meals. And for the price point, this is on par with brands you’d buy at your local Walmart or petco. Honestly the health of my babygirl has no price tag but it’s nice that I’m not breaking the bank. The kibble fits nicely in her automatic feeder and doesn’t get crushed or create a lot of food dust. She wasn’t able to rip through the bag (she didn’t try very hard but she did try a little so I was happy the bag held up before I put it in its container.) the bag looks nice, also has a bit more structure than the previous food I used and the way it’s shaped makes it easier to scoop the food. Will definitely be a continued buyer for open farm! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Noticeable improvement in coat & health! Best cat food ever! Two thumbs up!! *by on Reviewed in the United States July 4, 2026* This is the best cat food ever! My cat’s coat and health has improved exponentially since switching to Open Farm. I am thrilled that it is so healthy and my cat loves it.I’m especially happy that it is helping to eliminate any concern for furballs. I’m assuming that is due to the pumpkin ingredient. My cat has long hair and that is something we have had to contend with in the past.Overall, I am very pleased with this food. Some may think it’s expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for. My cat is worth feeding a TRUE healthy product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cat food *by on Reviewed in the United States October 5, 2026* My Cat loves it ## Frequently Bought Together - Open Farm Homestead Turkey & Chicken Grain-Free Dry Cat Food, Wild-Caught Fish Recipe with Non-GMO Superfoods and No Artificial Flavors or Preservatives, 4 lbs - Dr. Elsey's Ultra Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter 18 lb Bag --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/26537072-grain-free-dry-cat-food](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/26537072-grain-free-dry-cat-food) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
