A mechanical engineer explained to me the chemical reaction involved. Honda, Toyota, and European auto manufacturers' engineering dept. recommend using only silicone based greases on all rubber components. **Q: Works well for all the grease spots for drum brakes?** A: Absolutely **Q: Is this a clear grease?** A: It is not it’s dark **Q: Can be used for pin slider** A: No. This product will react with rubber compounds. Honda, Toyota, and European automotive engineering recommend using only silicone based greases on components using rubber seals. I have personally learned this the hard way using it on the caliper glide pins on 2 of my cars, and the rubber seals swelled in a matter of only a couple of weeks. Had to remove the old rubber rings, pin seals, completely flush out caliper glides, and replace the rubber parts. The label on this product should absolutely positively be changed.
