This rug is gorgeous. All wool, beautiful colors, no smell or shedding, very good price! Definitely use a thick rug pad as this rug is a flat weave so on the thinner side, but that is what a flat weave is. I would definitely buy again!

I chose this rug because previous ones I had tried that were primarily beige did not coordinate with my beige-ivory-linen couch. I agree with another reviewer that it is an elegant piece. If you're looking for a darker, neutral midtone (with a light bluish bias overall), this charcoal-taupe rug may be a good choice for you. It looks different at different times of the day, and the more I have it in my living room, the more I find it pleasing. One side of this 6x9 rug is fully 2 inches wider than the other (6'2"). I realize that hand-knotted rugs are not entirely uniform in size, but this amount of variation seemed unusual to me. When I wrote the manufacturer on its website, they replied that this variation was normal and to be expected. It makes it hard to line up with the floor boards, but placing one side under the couch helped and allowed the opposite side to line up with a floor board. Like other Safavieh rugs I have purchased in the past, it came expertly wrapped in two thick poly plastic layers; per their instructions printed on the plastic, you should unwrap your rug carefully in case you need to use the wrapping to return it. Because it was somewhat hard to gauge the color from the photos in the item listing, I attach several that include color control patches, which you may be able to use to calibrate your monitor. (I mentioned to the manufacturer that they consider including color control or Pantone patches in at least one of their photos.)

This is a beautifully crafted hand-knotted rug for the price. The colors are subtle and rich all at the same time, making it ideal for all kinds of decor. I am mostly impressed by the quality or the wool and elegant design. The weight of this rug is that of a heavier mat, and it can be kicked over easily at the corners; I’d recommend a pad. Pile is short and not too thick underfoot. Looks way more expensive in person and is beautiful as the focal point to a main room.
