Very helpful guide for identifying tracks In the snow or mud. We have one of these guides in every one of our ACRES Land Trust Docent backpacks.

This is a gift for a family member who is involved with teaching children and teens. It is waterproof and can be used in dry or wet weather.

In addition to six pages of tracks, this booklet has a page each of scat, feeding signs, nesting sites, and "other" signs, so it adds a little more than just tracks, which adds interest for younger trackers. Track drawings also illustrate walk and gallop/trot, which is pretty ambitious for a little pocket guide.

Animal Tracking: A Waterproof Folding Guide to Animal Tracking & Behavior: This is actually useful in the field and also back at home when comparing against pictures of prints seen outside. I've used it to back up my identifications to fellow hikers who doubted them. Heavy duty - will last a long time with reasonable care. Highly recommended.

excelant printing and all......I purchased it for cougar tractks...wheres the cougr tracks...we got cougars in michigans u.p......whers the info on cougars?????

good guide but for america. we thought this was a resource for the children to use but had we lived in america it would have been brilliant

My grandsons are at the age ( 3 and 6) when they love to be outside all the time. In the winter, we have followed the tracks of many of the animals that live in the woods in their neighbourhood. The kids can carry it and we don't have to worry that it will get lost , wet, or torn. It folds up nicely to fit is a jacket pocket. Great idea for all the nature lovers... and their grandkids, and to teach them about the environment in an interesting and enjoyable manner.
