A great tool

The fusing tool works great, but I am an HVAC contractor and have an issue with the cold ring clamps. The 1.25 inch clamp does not fit around the pipe correctly without loosening it every fitting then re tightening it after placing it on the next piece of pipe. It should be attached to a wider opening pair of voice grips for quicker and more convenient use. BAD DESIGN. I haven't tried the 3/4 ring, but I expect the same problem. I can use it, and the fuser functions as expected, I just would have expected a better design on the cold rings, considering the high quality of the unit, camphor tool/spacer, and nice box it was shipped in. This seems like a fairly big oversight that dramatically slows the process for those of us trying to do multiple fusions quickly.

I'm really impressed with this socket fusion kit. It is very well made - solid and sturdy. Temperature settings are very accurate and the fusion fittings are accurately sized and appear to be teflon coated. HDPE does not stick. Included chamfer tools, clamps, stand, insulation mitt AND a tool box make this a well-rounded kit. Excellent value for the money.
