This stuff is great. It's awesome that you can get this kind of hair product without all the harmful chemicals and additives and animal ingredients. I'd been searching for a long time (maybe a few years?) for a matte finish hair styling product that wasn't loaded with garbage ingredients. This product is nearly the perfect solution. First the good. I'm no chemist, but I believe this product is exactly what it claims to be: a plant-based hair styling product with no harsh or harmful chemicals. It scored pretty well on a cosmetics toxin evaluation (note: I tried to look up the data where I had seen this before but couldn't find it . . .). It also smells great and isn't at all greasy. It sculpts hair well and will hold all day and then some. Now the caveats. This stuff goes fast. The consistency of the product is such that I have to use a lot of product to get the desired styling. I have very short hair, but have to glob in a lot of product to prevent the frizzy look. Which means I run out very quickly. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for $15 a bottle, this stuff, while amazing, is starting to ride the line between how much I am willing (or can afford) to pay for both style AND health. Also, it's not quite as "matte" as other products. Your hair will be a tad shiny and crispy, the same way it would be with a standard hair gel, but a little less egregious. It's somewhere halfway between a matte paste and a shiny gel. I've left this product in overnight before and my hair looks great even the next day (except for the bed head cowlicks).

I'm trying to get away from chemicals, but couldn't quite find a product that worked well for me. My wife got this for me and it works well. I like the smell and it holds pretty good.

It's a great product and provides a medium hold on my black thick wavy hair but the only problem is that the product doesn't get absorbed/blend into the hair well. You can very often see white product in your hair even after an hour of applying and also after a while it starts to flake. Overall a good product and clean smell, just isn't for dark colored hairs.

I love this stuff for my kinky curly hair. The smell is divine and it keep my hair moisturized without feeling super oil. It feels like a paste that almost want to be a gel. I like to put it on first and then a light gel for a crunch-free hold on my curls. A bit pricey but for how much my hair loves it I’m a return customer

I am pleased with this product. I have found that it works even better for me when mixed with their sculpting gel. I have found that if I apply the products separately I have flakes in my hair, but if i mix them together, before applying it to my hair it doesn't. I have naturally curly hair and need a firmer hold. This helps with frizz and is not greasy. It has a light herbal smell, not too overpowering. I love that the ingredients are not toxic compared to many hair products on the market today.
