Tishby deals extensively with the attempts by the Arab world to destroy Israel by force of arms, and now by incessant propaganda and attempts to delegitimize the Jewish State. The latest manifestation of this, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) attacks are merely a front for the continued intention to destroy the Jewish State. Easy to read and very informative.

She's all in it, very one-sided account. Here or there admits to Israels faults, but it's clear where she stands. I havnt fact checked a lot, but i'd imagine many people might have different accounts. Yet, it is utterly important to learn this history, and the view from this side. You can't help agree with most points. I am curious what the authors view were since the recent conflict, but seems she has withdrawn from submitting public opinions. Fair enough - im sure it's stressful

Wow! From the very first page I was captivated by Noa's writing about a country I have been fascinated by for years. She quotes biblical information and historical fact in a lighthearted way that interests rather than bores me. Let's face it those two subjects to most people, can be a bit of a hard slog!! Since our Pastor visited Israel and came back and told us about the places he visited and linked them into the bible suddenly instead of being a book about life a few thousand years ago, the bible took on a reality and became a very interesting insight into Israel. Now along comes Noa and links the bible again with history, let's face it, every day in our life becomes tomorrow's history, but with humour and knowledge she brings Israel and its life (AND the devious British part in the creation of conflict in the Middle East which we are still suffering with today) to the fore. Now not everyone will agree with me but I say give this book a go. I love it. Well worth the cost.

Very good informative book , all pro Palestinians should be made to read this , instead of listening to the biased news channels!

Incredibly insightful and refreshing account of what Israel really is and isn't. I would highly recommend this for personal education

A one eyed, somewhat self indulgent account of (mostly) modern Israel covers a lot of ground and makes a number of important arguments against popular misconceptions of culpability for what is happening (and has happened) in Israel. Shining a light on the conduct of Israel’s opponents is a definite positive of this book. That said, it either ignores, sanitises or minimises the excesses of Israel, the terrible suffering it causes and its contribution to the cycle of violence. This is a book opponents of Israel should read but, I suspect, will find a readership among people already sympathetic to the arguments it makes.

The book in such a way that it's really easy to read and points are explained really well. I dont think I missed the point of the book but I feel like the authors isn't totally disinterested

Noa Tishby ist sowieso eine tolle Frau, Rednerin und Aktivistin für Israel und in diesem Buch bechreibt sie spannend, unterhaltsam und kompetent die komplexe und hochemotionale Geschichte dieses fantastischen Landes. Authentisch, erhellend und absolut grundlegendes Wissen, empfehlenswert!!!

Excellent book. The author takes the reader through all the arguments placed against Israel and refutes it. This is the book to go to if you want to listen to Israel’s side of the arguments. However, this is written pre October 7 2023, therefore refer to Douglas Murray’s books for a more rounded experience.

Noa Tishby has done what so many people have not been able to do. To clearly, factually, and personally explain what Israel is. She does it be writing in a style that average Americans can understand easily. So it is not difficult reading. I encourage people to buy and read this book.
