Don't let your kids pick the projects!
I checked this out of the library as my 4 and 7 y/o grandsons like to make things with me and grandpa. I gave it to them with sticky notes to pick the ones they wanted to do. It can back with almost every page marked! So I decided to buy it. Many of the projects require materials that I don't have around the house, but are easily obtainable. Not good for a spur of the moment rainy day activity. Would recommend.

Awesome book!
I bought this as a Fathers day gift for my children to give their dad. My husband loves doing things with the children, but needs inspiration. This is perfect. Scott clearly has a fun sense of humour which comes out both in the projects ("sneaky cake thief") and the illustrations. Some are ingeniously simple ("zen napkins") and some require a little bit more effort and materials ("customisable "Keep out!" sign"), but I know my children would love to make them all! There are 67 projects, grouped into clever categories (eg "Dangerous Decor", "Home Hacks") and it has a list of tools or materials needed, very clear step-by-step instructions, illustrations and photographs of how to make the project. The idea's will appeal to dads, whether they have boys or girls, and there will be something to entertain children from toddler age upwards. There are even templates at the back for those artistically challenged. But the best thing about this book is that it offers simple ideas and gets you thinking in a creative way about doing something fun with everyday objects around you.Even in a house where glue and felt-tip pens are strictly out of bounds, this book will be loved just as something to read and chuckle to. I know I won't be able to pull my son (age 11) away from it once he's opened it. Brilliant!!
