best money I've spent in years !!!
I purchased the Fabrico Sun Dome last month (Sept, 2012). I bought a 12ft x 32ft kit. I had no one help me install it so I thought about it for a week and came up with a plan. I installed one section across the 12ft width at a time, then the end spiders. When that was done I installed the connecting poles along the center. My "helper" was a 6ft fiberglass ladder with socks on the legs for protection of the vinyl liner. ( My pool is above ground.) So at first I did the few cuts for the shorter sides, no problem, then leaned all the poles against the pool in their respective places. Then with my silver tape and scissors available, I climbed in the pool and went along installing the poles and spiders, moving the ladder as I went. Unbelievably easy. Then for the vinyl top--I laid it next the the side and used 3 separate ropes to lift it over the top--one in the middle and each end before the final spiders. I folded it sort of accordian-style so it wouldn't strain when going up. Then I got back inside on my ladder and lifted it gently from underneath. Wow-- worked very well. It was a little windy that day too. The wind may have even helped. I could easily reposition it until I was happy with it. Now I didn't do it in 4 hrs like a couple of strong men could. It took me 2 days at a relaxing, have a coffee break often, pace. But you see--I am 60 year old woman. Now let's get to the real reason I love it. Yesterday, October 23, 2012 the water temp was 84 degrees. That is with no heater of any kind, solar or otherwise. It is still warm here in Texas but I never have been swimming past mid September. The water has to be above 80 for me to swim. This has added 5 weeks onto my swim season this fall already. I should be swimming in March too. My pool cost $6,000. This was only a fraction of that cost and makes my pool available much longer in the season. I will get the screen version for next summer too. I am soooo glad I took the plunge and got this sun dome. I have spent more money on things I didn't enjoy nearly this much! I smile constantly in my new dome.
