Takes Getting Used To - Good Value
These are exactly as advertised, real, wooden bamboo straws. They work OK. There is a slight variety and range of sizes and diameters within the package, after all it's bamboo. I would say that the straws are about 1/2" or 12 mm or LESS in outer diameter. Some also have slight bends in them, realize they are not flexible or bendable. I have found that some of the straws can only be used until the liquid you're sipping reaches a certain level due to a loss of suction because there is a tiny crack or hole in the stick, or only used with one side up for the same reason. Also, using these straws for plain water isn't great because you can taste the woody flavor. When using them with coffee or other flavored beverages they were fine, the woodsy flavor was covered up by the drink flavor. Like many things they take getting used to, because they feel very different when sipping than the plastic straws I'm accustomed to, and that feeling and taste are my main criticisms. I know that discarded plastic straws can cause a good amount of damage to coastal and oceanic wildlife, so I'm willing to get used to the bamboo. They are a decent product at a very fair price.

if only they all worked......
I really like the straws when I saw them. I thought they would be a nice way to not throw away plastic straws, are a sustainable resource, and they add a interesting look. Unfortunately not all the straws work. One of the straws was not drilled properly through all of the joints so you can't even blow air through it. Another is cracked on the sides so you get air in the straw all the time. Also, out of all the straws I got, only one didn't have any joints. All the straws with joints are incredibly hard to clean because you can't get one of the small bristle brushes for tubes past any of the joints. It says all you need to do to clean them is to rinse soapy water through them, but when I used a bristle brush I got some dirt and I'm sure there is more on the ones I couldn't get the brush through completely. I wish more care would have been taken to making them.

Great idea but doesn't work
I think this was a brilliant idea but for me, it failed completely. On arrival about half of my straws were completely unusable. They were too narrow or they were split on the sides so I couldn't get anything through them. On the other end, some are so thick that you can't really get a good enough hold to draw in fluid. Unfortunately, none of them can be used with a lidded cup either. That is, they are so big they won't fit in any straw holes. As others have mentioned you also can't leave them in a drink for long or they get soggy and affect the taste of the drink. That taste causes me to wonder if there is anything unhealthy about them. So, I ended up with a few straws that only kinda work. They seem like a novelty rather than something functional. Too many significant problems but I still can appreciate the idea.

Cut back on plastic waste and taste!
I received these bamboo drinking straws and I'm pleasently surprised! They are sturdy, eco and leave behind no funny taste. However I'm a super smoothie addict and many of my smoothies are rather thick and would stain the straws so I just use them for juices and water. I was looking for a product that was non-disposable and didnt leave a funky plastic flavor. I'd reccomend these so you can cut back on plastic waste and taste!

I really like these straws
I really like these straws. The fact that they are sustainable and made from a material that is not damaging to the earth is fantastic. They wash us better than plastic straws. The only drawback is that if left to sit too long - like overnight - they don't taste good. I usually put a glass of water by my bed at night and leave the straw in all night and that doesn't work with these. It's a minor issue though. Definitely worth the trade off for helping the earth.

the holes aren't big enough and you have to suck too hard
i bought the sustainable bamboo drinking straws after not having a lot of luck retaining the straw that came with my iced coffee mug. i was hoping that i could lose a few of these and not really care or be stranded without a straw. for that, the sustainable bamboo drinking straws worked well.sometimes, the holes aren't big enough and you have to suck too hard.not really sure if i should be putting them in the dishwasher. but i am anyways.plastic cup not included.

no light at the end of the tunnel
some straws have holes that don't visibly go through and do not allow enough fluid to pass through, while others have clearly visible holes. I like that every straw is a unique size but they could have spent more time on quality, ensuring that each straw is properly functional. success rate is around 50% for my batch.

LOVE these straws!!!!!
LOVE these straws!! I feel I am doing what I can for the environment even though it is only small steps. These feel great and leave no taste. They have been rounded out on the ends to fit nicely on your lips with no rough edges. My only negative, and it may just be me, is they are probably not a straw you would want to use with an acidic drink such as a Bloody Mary or Margarita as they do leave a bitter taste in your mouth! Other than that, they are great and a good conversation piece! 😊 I will be purchasing more.

Good for water
These are good for water but that's about it. They don't last very long as the taste of the bamboo gets stronger the more you use them.I won't buy them again.

Excellent
Arrived very quickly and with more straws than I anticipated. The box they came in was a little large but that's more of an observation than a complaint.

Poor product
Some of them were faulty, as in I couldn't draw my smoothy through the straw. With so.e there must have been a miniscule crack or something, cause I couldn't see it by was sucking air. With some the hole looked plenty big enough, but would get plugged easily, at the natural joi t in the bamboo, I think. Quit using them altogether.

Umweltfreundlich und nicht aus Erdöl
Ich habe sowas zum ersten mal auf Bali genutzt. Wahrscheinlich ist eine Strohalm aus Glas nur noch hygenischer und ökologischer...
