My son is autistic and never got good at tying laces. That was fine, when he was a kid and all of the shoes had Velcro fasteners. As an adult, we were down to slip on shoes, which don't work well for hiking boots, which need more stability. These laces can be sinched up to keep the shoes stable, without the need to tie a bow. Heck, I like them on my own boots - much less likely to come untied.

Put these laces on my boat shoes and love them. They give me the snug fit I like and never come untied - which is a problem with boat shoe laces. Just waterproofed my boots and will put them on the boots as well. Not sure how they'll stay on the "hooks" at the top but we'll see. Can't wait. A few days later... Still love them on my boat shoes. The boots? They seem to work OK on the lower portions of the boots, which have real eyes for the laces. The upper portion is another story in dealing with the hooks or "speed lacing." It seems that as soon as I loosen the clasps, the laces come off the hooks, which needs to be done anyway just to get my feet out. Relacing the speed lacing or hooks as I put the boots on is something I'm used to. Overall, love the Lock Laces for my boat shoes; I like them so much that I'm about to get another pair for the shoes I wear frequently. On the boots, time will tell. The feel of the boots with them on is fantastic but getting them off and on is a chore - if its more of a chore than it is with regular laces, the regular laces will go back on. Okay, an update. Have really gotten used to them on the boots with the speedlace hooks at top. They stay on well and honestly, wouldn't think of using any other kind of lace. Have never had them come off the hooks at top - unlike other reviewers. These are a home run.

These are excellent. When I buy a new pair of shoes or boots, I am reaching for these. It's not just the convenience of being able to slip on and off shoes or boots, but also the fact that the laces make my shoe conform to my foot better than regular laces ever do. The result is a shoe that fits snugly without feeling tight. It stays on when you run. Its adjustable in a flash. I have never had a pair of laces go bad on me.

Perfect. Just as advertised. Shoes are super easy to slip on and off. The elastic stretch of the laces allow your shoe to expand a little on impact with the ground for maximum comfort. No more sore spots caused by regular laces that are too tight and don’t give at all when laced up.

This lacing system works really well, simple install. This lacing system turns even mid height boots into slip ons which is very convenient. These locking laces stretch snugly to keep the shoe secure and are a LOT more hygienic at the gym than standard laces. These locking laces can be trimmed to keep them off the floor. My new go to gym shoes have standard laces and they keep getting untied regardless of how tightly I lace and tie them. Great shoes, lousy laces! These new locking laces are a great concept that is well executed in reality and are the ideal fix for my purposes which was to prevent laces from untying, dragging on filthy floors and making all my hoots “slip ons”. I used a different, lighter color locking lace on my Icebug tungsten stud boots to easily differentiate them from my non-studded boots. If you’re not familiar with Icebug studded boots, they have tungsten carbide studs for traction in ice and snow and are a must for me in my location. The issue with Icebug studded boots is that that they will scratch or damage ANY indoor floor in seconds, hence the lighter colored laces to tell them apart from non-studded boots. My only “con” was not seeing the 2 pack for $17.99. I spent $11.99 for one pair. I wound up buying 6 pair of locking laces. Easy install and universal fit on most low to medium boots. Best shoe/boot upgrade for my purposes!

These Lock Laces are terrific. No more laces becoming untied or pulled loose while hiking in brush. The Locks are tight, but move easily. There are clams for each set of cut laces, then laces can be easily tucked in during hikes. These would be great for kids of any age who tire of tying bows and finding them undone.
