I've been very happy with this journal cover. It fits a standard Moleskine (or similar) snugly but still allows it to sit flat, after some break-in time. The leather is substantial and has great color. The rivets are solid.If I had to give a negative, the top and bottom extend pretty far, I'd maybe have trimmed these down halfway. That said, the extra height does protect the corners and edges of your notebook, especially if it is a softcover, so perhaps that was the design intent.The pen loop is thick and sturdy. No issues there. A Lamy Safari or Parker 51 definitely won't slip out. The only downside to the loop is you'll find you always put this notebook on top of a stack. Which isn't always a bad thing since it is so nice to look at.Overall very happy with this and another Hide & Drink product I purchased. Will be a repeat customer.

Design is simple rustic and yet fun with the rivets. The leather feels great and smells good too. Which they have this same for travel standard journals too for I’m looking for a simple folio style that fits the standard size snuggly. This fits my moleskine journal snuggly but it’ll stretch nicely to fit it just perfect soon I’m sure.

Simple: I love it. It’s a good sturdy leather. It’s punched together well and it has thus far handled a beating—between car, writing, and backpack. I’d recommend it to those who write in cashier journals.
