Is this product actually 1000x zoom? i bought, the "zoom" functions like a focus, and "exend/reduce" only go between 1x and 2x. is this a hoax?

The exact zoom level I'm not sure but it's not 1000x. The 'zoom' function seems to be a crude combined focus and zoom adjustment, where there are really only two zoom levels where a focused image is possible, which seem to be about 20x apart in zoom level (whatever the absolute zoom level is). I'm guessing actual zoom is something like 5x-100x or maybe 10x-200x.

can this be viewed live on 2 different devices at the same time?

can it be used without using the proprietary app?

No, you need to use it with the app.
