I would not consider myself of an experienced whisky or scotch drinker, but I have enjoyed the Arctiq whiskey bullets. The packaging and logo are very well done and give a rich first impression. My first thought upon opening the package is that it would make a perfect gift for someone. The bullets, tongs, and storage pouch are of high quality. As others have mentioned, I prefer to use all 6 bullets at once. They chill the drink while adding novelty, but are not intended to get as cold as a glass full of ice.

They are smaller than I thought, but they are very nice and easy to use. They fit perfectly into a gift-bag in the box, or wrapped. My husband absolutely loves these.

I like the concept, but it's really more of a novelty than an effective way to chill whiskey. The six bullets weight in at around 85g, about the weight of a 2" ice cube (80g) or a little less than 3 of the 1" stainless steel whiskey chilling cubes (92g). By measuring their displacement in water (23cc), I estimate they are about 40% steel and 60% a lighter substance (gel? alcohol?) inside. The stylized bullet shape has a diameter about that of a .45 ACP cartridge.I did a little experiment to see how well they cooled scotch compared to stainless steel cubes and ice. I started with 4 oz of scotch (Johnny Walker red, if that matters) in three glasses and measured their respective temperatures with a thermocouple. (I hope the picture is displayed.) I then added the three cooling media to the glasses and waited 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.The results were:Time zero all: 75F.5 minutes with ice: 47F5 minutes with 3 SS cubes: 59F5 minutes bullets: 65FThis isn't very surprising since the heat capacity of ice is about twice that of the steel/liquid media. Add to that the cooling that results from the phase transition of ice to water, and you get the dramatic 28F cooling from ice compared to the 10F cooling provided by the bullets. I was surprised that the SS cubes did better. Just guessing, but perhaps the nonmetal components inside the cubes are also enjoying a solid-liquid phase transition as they warm and the bullets' innards are not. If that's the case, maybe bullets made of solid stainless steel would perform better.After my experiment, I was able to decant the undiluted scotch in the glasses with bullets and SS cubes back to the bottle. I was regrettably forced to drink the glass with ice - such is the price of science.The truth is, I purchased these for their novelty value, and on that count I'm not disappointed.I purchased these whiskey stones at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

These are some of the most unique sipping stones that I've ever seen. They keep my whiskey nice and cool and don't leave a bad after taste like some of the other rock stones that I use. The box suggests I add 3 to my whiskey, but I prefer to add all 6!Although I received this product at a discount in exchange for a fair review, I would still recommend it to anyone who needs a unique set of sipping stones!

What do you get the man who has everything and anything? This! Because he won't even think to get it himself. My father in law LOVED this and it was the star of the show for father's day. He just kept talking and talking and talking about them. Still, he uses these bullets daily with his custom whiskey glass we also got him, which has a bullet fashioned to the side. Perfect match! We could not have picked a better gift.
