Thoughtful story on modern life
What would you do with a lot of money if you won the Lottery? How would you treat others with more money than most people see in a life time? This story so very well told of a woman who happened to be an eye sore to those around her. Not raised in the best of circumstances, divorced raising 2 children on her own, Karen Donaldson bought one lottery ticket and hit the jackpot. Those around her didn't appreciate her winnings as they thought they "out classed" her with the silver spoon upbringing and their fully loaded houses. But the story takes twists and turns of how they all learn to love each other and serve each other in unexpected ways. Centered around a Mormon community, Lucky Change uses many of the "Mormon Lingo" in the culture of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and the side characters involved with Karen add interest and thought to the whole book. This is a different take from Susan Law Corpany as the story is a very realistic and a sad commentary on modern society but she still shines through in her humor and plot twists with wonderful characterizations. A great read.

Worth reading!
Susan Corpany has done it again! I expected a pleasant book that would be enjoyable reading just like her previous books. Lucky Change was entertaining, and more. The characters are clever but their interactions allow the reader to do some self-reflection: How do I treat others? Do I feel superior? Am I always kind? Do I forgive quickly?I read this book a few days ago and find myself recalling several passages that made serious points about relationships we have with others. I hadn't expected the story to stay with me but it has. This is definitely a book to keep and reread.

Best one yet.
I had the privilege of reading an early draft of this book. I was a "Karen" in more than one ward that I've lived in. The author treats her characters with respect and affection. Karen reminds me to look inside for any lingering bitterness or grudges and put them out on the curb where they belong.

Lucky Change: Great Book!
Lucky Change was such an enjoyable book. What would you do if you won the super-lottery? That's exactly what happens to the main character in this book and she chooses to creatively give to others. She is so unselfish, but also has a really fun personality. Of course, she also spends some money on herself and her family and that's always nice to daydream about. I LOVED her quirky sense of humor and her humble wisdom. This book is about Mormons, but would be enjoyable reading for anyone.

Surprising little gem!
What a surprising little gem this was! I don't normally read LDS comedy, but this was thought-provoking, humorous, and utterly charming. I'm really looking forward to reading everything she has written. :)

Lucky Change makes for a Luckly Book
By the end of the first chapter I was laughing. The story primarily centers around a plainspoken but well-intentioned Mormon lady who inadvertantly wins the lottery. The book follows her interactions with the kinds of characters you find in every Mormon congregation, in law firms, in neighborhoods, in real families. I found the novel warm, funny, sincere and thoughtful. Loving, yet realistic, the book reminded me of people I've known and work situations I've experienced (particularly in the law firm).
