You can, its a natural wax lined paper sleeve.

Q: If the bristles are nylon, how is this toothbrush 100% biodegradable?

It can't be since nylon is NOT biodegradable. This is a question for the manufacturers

I emailed the company and this is that they said. “Thanks for reaching out. The bristles have no charcoal. They are biodegradable and made from a mix of corn starch, bamboo fiber and castor oil although they do biodegrade a bit slower than the toothbrush handle.”
