Just What We Were Looking For - Great Pail, No Smells, Easy to Use
Update after 7 months:Still love it! Once the spring in the push button got stuck and the pail stopped working. Since this was from our Amazon registry I tried to contact Amazon and they were super unhelpful. So I reached out to the company and they were prompt in responding. I sent them a video of the issue and they sent me on back with the simple thirty second fix. Has worked great for months since then.- I saw someone returning this to buy buy baby for the same issue. It seems common but easy to fix and many just don't try- I probably will not do another Amazon registry. Easy to use but when something needs returned/replaced they are super unhelpful unlike the nearby store where I had my other registry.Original Review: Our baby is only 1 month old but so far I love this. It is easy to change the bags and wonderful we can use regular tall kitchen bags - which was one of my criteria since I did not want that added expense. We haven't had any issues with smells in the nursery and probably only change the bag once a week. Another reason I loved this is because it is taller then the other leading steel diaper pail and when holding a squirming baby it is easy to reach the top to put the diaper in. I am hopeful this will last us for a while and when/if it bites the dust I will plan on buying a new one. We searched for a LONG time for a diaper pail and I am so happy we found this, love it!

Impressed with Bubula Customer Service
UPDATE: Bubula reached out after initial review. Shipped us a replacement and.....it arrived in working condition! The new pail is great! I really like the concept of the pail. The two part drop works well on the new unit, lever is easy to use and the hole is big enough for our cloth, fitted diapers. Color is mellow so looks good in nursery. The pail is bigger (holds more) than the Ubbi which is nice since diapers we use are bulky. Both our cloth liners fit great and the metal clip to attach it makes it secure and easy to remove. I'm so impressed with how Bubula addressed the defect of the initial pail. A+ in customer service! As a cloth diaper Mom, I highly recommend this pail!!****Initial experience, "Item came, packaging looked good and the lid would not stay shut. the black clasp was broken from the moment it left the box. I also noticed the "sticking" issue with the rear lever. We promptly but it back in box to return. I'm disappointed that the item came broken.*****

A solid diaper pail from a great company
An update/replacement of my previous review. (tl;dr: it's great so far).I received a broken unit as an open box model from Warehouse Deals. I would normally just blame any damage on shipping or the "open box" nature of the order, but I was concerned because other reviewers had mentioned the exact same point of failure: the latch that closes the primary cover, where dirty diapers are placed. So I chalked it up to an actual product defect and prepared to return the item to Amazon. However, before I did that, Bubula contacted me and promised to make it right. They claimed that some of the units did indeed leave the factory with an overlooked defect, and they offered to send me a replacement part to get my Bubula working. I think that's just solid customer service, and not every company would do that, especially for someone who bought a used item. The new lid was shipped quickly (arriving incidentally while I was at the hospital with my wife, who was delivering our daughter), and it was easy to swap out the part with a screwdriver. The piece that broke in the first model has indeed been completely redesigned, and it looks much more robust and durable.Through a little more than a week of hard use (with a newborn going through 10-12 diapers a day), the Bubula has performed very well. Newborn, breastfed babies don't really make stinky diapers, so I can't speak to its ultimate odor reduction capabilities, but the room is indeed stink-free so far. Ask me again when she starts solid foods next year.I like the look of the thing, the fact that the can is stainless steel, the fact that it comes in many colors, and that it requires only regular kitchen trash bags. I believe the defect that affected a small number of products has been fixed, and I respect the company for acknowledging the problem and offering to help me out. They've really been great about the whole thing. While I only have a short time with the Bubula so far, I expect that it will perform well as one of the best diaper pails available today.Update: Four months in, and I think the Bubula really is the best option out there for diaper disposal. Friends and family are frequently lamenting their more popular diaper pail's reliance on proprietary bag refills and such, as well as things like broken plastic gears that render a cheaper unit useless. I've used the Bubula every day for four months, and it's as good as the day the first soggy diaper crossed its stainless threshold. No messes, no stains, no odors (other than the scented/neutralizing kitchen bags we use). I'm a fan, but I still have yet to test it with truly stinky solid food diapers. The thing seals well, so I believe it will be as good or better than any other available solution out there.

I would love to give this product 5 stars because
I would love to give this product 5 stars because, in theory, it's fantastic. I had previously used a Diaper Genie with my first child and this represents a major upgrade…in theory. It does contain odor quite well, uses standard kitchen trash bags (a big cost savings), and my older child loves the "magic" disposal mechanism (now you see it, now you don't!). But there are some major product and distribution flaws. The pop-up top into which you insert the dirty diapers is quite flimsy. It was broken on the first unit I received, rendering the product unusable. Amazon graciously shipped me a replacement (more on that below), but after only two weeks of normal use, the same piece broke again. And it can't be fixed because the mechanism to which it's attached is housed in an inaccessible part of the product (in the underside of the lid). The first replacement I received was delivered in the manufacturer's packaging--no additional padding or support--and arrived dented. The second replacement I received was packed properly, but broke after a couple of weeks (see above). The replacement I received for THAT unit arrived, same as the first, all dented up, in the manufacturer's box which is clearly insufficient for shipping and which I had noted in my original correspondence with Amazon. So, while Amazon has been most helpful and efficient in sending replacements, the flaws in the shipping/packing process and the product itself need to be addressed before I can give this product the rating it deserves for the innovation it represents in diaper pail design.
