Top tier knife and brand
The media could not be loaded. Out of every knife brand I’ve owned I trust the quality of Yoshihiro the most! I have a gyuto as well as a kiritsuke yanagiba I have purchased from them years ago both have and still holds up extremely well for me to this day. I recently purchased this 10.5in slicer to use as my main knife for filleting fish as well as other protein and produce and wow everything about it is top tier the sharpness and handle as well as the angle of the blade everything just felt right. The balance from blade to handle is about even. It is blue steel so rust will appear if you leave it wet for too long but personally I like maintaining my knives during my down time I find it very therapeutic so the blade material is no issue to me. However if you are someone who doesn’t like to maintain their knives as much or at all I’d suggest going for more of their actual stainless steel knives.

Awesome steel quality, but requires more maintenance the an average knife
This knife is a lot of fun to use. The blade is really thin, and it can hold an edge close to as sharp as my Dovo straight razor! You need to be careful though because even though this knife says it's stainless steel it will rust easily. Also at the beginning there is a thin coating on the knife to protect against rust during shipping. To get this off you can use lacquer thinner, for me it was causing the knife to look discolored almost as if it had rust. Once it was off I used the rust eraser I got off Yoshihiro's website and the blade was looking good as new. Since these knives require more maintenance than your average knife I would highly advise you to go the their website and watch a few of their knife care videos.

Great Knfe
Have been looking for one of these for a while found this on amazon and was excited to give it a try. Even out of the box with out using it the whole grip was fantastic. Cutting was perfect. Slice through lemon paper thin with out even sharping it before use. Sharper than many that I have tried before from many chef. Great Price it too.

Excellent universal razor
I've owned this knife for about a year now. It arrived razor sharp and met all my expectations. With the carbon steel it does require more attention. That has not bothered me just minding to clean it each day and to keep it very dry to prevent staining. A few times some staining occurred and i used a scotchgaurd pad and scrubbed the knife while lying it on the counter. This worked great and brought the luster right back. I also purchased a #3000 whetstone and it has worked great to maintain the edge. It is an excellent universal knife for filet fish or vegetables and handle is light and comfortable. If you don't mind the price i believe you will have this knife for a long time.** I recommend purchasing from yoshihiro directly, the customer service is excellent and i had an issue when ordering this through amazon.
