Can you hook an nes to an hdtv with this?

No, you would be looking for the exact opposite, actually: RCA to HDMI converter. This product (HMDI to RCA) would be to take a new component & connect it to an old TV/monitor; what you want to do is connect an old component to a new TV. RCA to HDMI cords and/or converters do exist (right here on Amazon, too!), so you shouldn't have any trouble getting your NES to work on a newer TV. *HOWEVER*, I do want to mention that the NES Zapper does NOT work with the new digital TVs; I hope I haven't crushed any Duck Hunt-playing dreams!

Will this work if i put the av end into a dvd player and then the hdmi into my tv

I tried that with a newer tv to my older dvd player and it did not work and I wasted my money.

Will this fit a Nintendo console game

If nintendo still makes their consoles like they did when I was a kid in the eighties, then 'yes.'
