So far, really satisfied, TOTALLY worth it.
I choose this radio over any other because it was from a trustworthy brand (Sony) and it was one of the cheapest at 399$ CAD ($300 US). I got it in 4 days instead of the 1-2 weeks they were saying. I went to a car electronics store (VitroPlus) which ordered the case needed to fit into my 2003 Toyota Corolla. I use Apple CarPlay ALL THE TIME, I almost never use the normal radio, even tho it works really well. It only works with Apple phones, there’s no Android Auto, but the Bluetooth fonction of the radio is so fast to connect to your phone, it’s instantaneous when you start the car. The settings are simple, and complete. I recommend it 100%, it transforms my old car into a techy car that I’m always excited to drive now. It impresses people when they get into your car. Only issue is that I’m not sure about the solidity of the USB port on long term, I would recommend ALWAYS let your USB cord plugged, only unplug your phone when you leave the car, plus you need an Apple brand USB cord. UPDATE: In august 2019, I installed an aftermarket backup camera that I plugged to my Sony radio. But products are working seamlessly together. It’s now been 8 months that I have it today (November 2019) and it still works great, but it seems to hate cold temperatures.

BEST Bang For Your Buck! AMAZING Apple CarPlay Stereo
Sony XAVAX1000 Review & Install on 2007 Hyundai Elantra: I was a little skeptical of this unit and have always been skeptical of aftermarket units as I think they're ugly, of terrible quality and a pain in the a** to use. This Sony unit checks ALL the boxes + more. The interface is beautiful, simple and EASY to navigate unlike most aftermarket units. Apple CarPlay works SEAMLESSLY and flawlessly. Connecting a backup camera was EASY and my unit looks so good mounted into the license plate light (all links for what I needed are listed below). I was worried I wouldn't like the USB port next to the screen but it really doesn't bother me other than the look isn't great but it was better than routing a USB port somewhere else and way simpler + this unit has AUX if you need it. My only complaint is that the touch screen is capacitive and it's kind of old school. Granted you're not touching it much and it works just fine, it's just not as nice as say a high quality glass or plastic display with resistive touch. That being said, I purchased an open box unit from Amazon in perfect condition-sealed for $250 so I have ZERO complaints. I had a hard time figuring out how everything would come together for a 2007-2010 Elantra but below are all the items I needed that made for a perfect install. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this unit and setup and could not be happier. It looks great, it has a REAL volume knob, Apple CarPlay is kick a** and I have a backup camera mounted to look OEM! I HIGHLY recommend this unit! Excellent radio to upgrade from a “radio” that has no technical functions.
Bought for our teenage granddaughter‘S first car...she (and we) wanted her to be safe and have the ability to have navigation In her car and with the use of cell phones, to ensure she would never have to touch her phone...her vehicle is a 2003, which her radio in the vehicle had no technical functions. She loves it and it has exactly what she needs, and more. Also has the ability to hook up a back up camera. Very easy to install. Definitely worth the money.

Simple and easy. Nice upgrade for aging cars with double din
Does exactly what I needed: FM + Digital FM broadcast, Sirius XM compatible, iPhone CarPlay integration for handsfree. My Kenwood unit died and I needed a replacement receiver pronto so my commute wasn't silent. Screen is double din height but unit body is single so there was extra space for tucking wires and ventilation without feeling cramped in my dashboard like with my previous Kenwood. Sound defaults are bit bass heavy out of box but with minimal adjustment got it sounding nice and balanced with my factory speakers. Only has the one USB port on the front bezel. Wish it had another USB on back to plug in aftermarket USB jacks I've added to my Toyota Yaris. Apple Car Play only works while tethered over USB for my iPhone 6s. The Apple Car Play integration is really why I bought this unit and it does everything I thought it would. They included a remote control in the box but I never use it.

If Only
If only this thing was more than what it is. Like if it allowed you to hook a computer up to it. Or put youtube on it. At the same time, I see why they didn't and I still respect. This thing adds carplay which is just huge. Not the brightest thing, not the fastest or most responsive. But it has carplay and Sony has little to no competition at this price. So I'm forced to recommend as they are one in a few. A little quirk it has is that every time you work on the battery and disconnect it, I'm pretty sure it resets this thing. By default it is set to advertise when not in use/carplay, so I got use to seeing that screen when I was too lazy to turn the feature off (As I usually am working on the car and need to reset the thing time after time). But again, for the price, the unit is incomparable to anything else I've seen. It even delivers a boost to your cars sound performance, just make sure you have everything required to install it.
