These are perfect for connecting to my regular radio headset to my R1 handheld walkie-talkie perfect way to go a lot cheaper than a whole system. Not everybody has the means to purchase and all the one system this way you can get in and out of your vehicle connected to audio.

I paired this up with my TYT MD-380 digital radio and a Rugged Radio H22-CF headset this weekend for use in a digital scanner role for the flagger net. The cable was pliable, kept good connection between the headset and radio, and was almost the perfect length to keep the cord out of my way while flagging. Seems like it will last a good while. When I get to test it in a radio transmission situation, I'll update this review.

Rugged Radios Version: Works great. I use it with the Baofeng UV5R radios and the updated UV-82 and it works as it should. I do wish it cost less than the radios and that's the only point deduction I give it. Feels like this should cost about half, but the quality is good and I haven't seen alternatives that work that aren't DIY. TX works very well. The volume is very good in the headphones, not sure if the cable has much to do with this point. WARNING NON-rugged Radios Vendor DO NOT USE: The cable doesn't work. I didn't get this one from rugged radios, so watch what seller you use and try yours quickly. I didn't try mine though, because my rugged radio headphones are crap and I had to fiddle with them to make them useable. I suspect this cable was just wired wrong, so it's not a hard fix, but annoying.

This cable mates with my Kenwood TH-D72, Anytone 878 and Baofeng UV-5R radios. A female 5-pin mini-XLR (airbus plug) one the headset end and a 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm male plugs on the radio side.
