MoellerMarine Electric Dash Mounted Fuel Gauge (33 to 240 Ohm's)

I went into this purchase knowing that the gauge looks different from the one pictured. There's the big Moeller printed at the bottom but since I was ready for that I didn't mind. I've seen a few people having issues with installation of this gauge. The back should have a tag on one of the posts. That tag is on the post where the sending wire should go. 12v + goes on the opposite side of the gauge big post (there are 3 total), and between those two, in other words the center big post is where 12v ground goes. The other smaller terminal is where your light 12v power goes for your dash gauge lights.This gauge worked right out of the box for me. I have completely rewired my boat and the fuel gauge was broken (and was broken for years). I checked for an ohm reading coming from the sending unit and found it to be somewhere around 100 (forget the actual number) so I figured the sending unit was working. Thanks to Moeller for a great gauge!

QC let this one ride and I wasn't happy. Nothing wrong with the gauge, but I had to dock a star due to the light bulb being out of spec and not working properly. Spent a good 15 mins going over my wiring and messing with the bulb housing bending connectors thinking it just wasn't touching right.. It would flicker a little when I jiggled it and then stay off. I finally inspected the bulb after pulling 3/4 of my hair out and found that one of the folded contact wires was not where it was supposed to be. Got it smoothed down in it's groove, put it back in the housing for the 83rd time and VIOLA! Thanks for the adventure in electronics, Moeller.

Works!I’m not terribley fond of how it’s lit, compared to my other gauges and every bump you hit will send the reading all over the place, unlike nicer ones that move very slowly the even that out.But it works and that’s what matters.

Bought this gauge to replace the original gauge that came with my Moeller sending unit. The original back didn’t work. Now this doesn’t work. I pulled the light to check and it works. But when I placed it back in the gauge it doesn’t work. I do allot of traveling at night so would be nice if it worked.

very nice gauge. the only thing i dont like about it is the dull back lighting at night. you can see it really well, but the color of the light looks like that old "yellow" backlight youd see in a 60s or 70s model vehicle.
