JINHAO 997 Luxury Fountain Pen Ink Pen (Red, Fine Nib)

As an avid fountain pen collector, I’m very impressed with this new Jinhao 997 fountain pen! Although I’ve always liked Jinhao pens in terms of quality for the price, the 997 shows they’ve taken it up a notch. Styled to resemble a Parker Premier ($200-$300), this solid, metal pen is constructed very well. The pull-off cap snaps back on securely, posts tightly, and the pen’s slightly thicker girth fits comfortably in my large hand. Though slightly weighty, it is well balanced, even when posted. And the trusty Jinhao #5 steel nib has proven to be consistently smooth, wet, and reliable. I have never had a dry start or skip. It is a pleasure to write with.Priced just below $8, I think this pen is a steal. You’d be hard pressed to find a better value. This would be a great first pen for the beginner, or for the enthusiast like me who, while I own much more expensive pens, appreciates the high quality and low cost of a pen like the Jinhao 997.

The media could not be loaded. Really nice pen for the price, I love the fact that it has an adapter instead of a cartridge feed. I love using blue ink and it makes it simple.

Incredible pen for $8! I love the size, weight, and finish on this pen. The nib is smooth and it writes beautifully!! I'll probably buy another! Highly recommend!

Love this pen. I was looking for something with a nice professional look and a little bit of heft up use at work. The dark gray is gorgeous and the pen's Parker-"inspired" looks are classic and timeless. It's weighty enough to feel solid but not so heavy that I feel like I could bludgeon someone with it.I'd be happy with this pen if I spent a lot of money on it, and the reason I bought it was that it was the cheapest one that fit the bill. So, five stars.

Great price but definitely is NOT going to win any awards for smooth ink output…

This is a good everyday pen, a little weighty on the back end and you need to make sure the cap is seated firm on back end when writing or it tends to come off. All in all it is a good pen, writes nice, just those few things for me that makes it 4 star.

Good news: The pen worked immediately and the ink flow is very smooth. The screw-type converter is easy to fill and I am delighted that I can now use the various colors of bottled ink that I have.Not so good news: This pen is very heavy and wide. If you have small hands like I do, you may want to consider another pen from this company.

Nice pen, attractive gray metallic color. A little on the heavy side for me but I am a senior citizen and prefer lighter pens. A good buy for the money.
