Siciliane N96 Italian Regional Playing Cards - 1 Deck

They’re fine Italian cards. One of my students is from Sicily. If you want to play Scopa with real cards you need a real Italian to go with them where I’m from. If I polled a hundred random people in my town, I expect about zero of them would know of the existence of such a deck. Anyway, got an Italian, got the cards, played lots of games. They don’t bend like typical poker cards. Apparently that’s just how Italian cards are. They’re not to be bridge shuffled. They are quite nice though, and have served me well. Got a Naples style too from the same company, since another of our students was from southern Italy. Met her through the Sicilian. Anyway, it’s a good deck and a good company. They’re the big maker. If they weren’t 10 dollars a deck, or if I knew more people who played scopa (only know the two Italians), I’d buy one of each regional variant.

I have started to learn how to play Scopa, Briscola, and Tresette and even though I can play the games with a regular deck of playing cards, I wanted a more traditional Italian deck. I came across this Siciliane Modiano Italian card deck and I absolutely love it. This is a Spanish suited deck that has the suits Denari, Coppe, Spade, and Bastoni or Coins, Cups, Swords, and Batons. The face cards are the Fante, Cavallo, and Re or Knave, Knight, and King. Italy does have like 16 regional decks that are all different for the region they are from with some being Spanish suited and others being French suited. This Siciliane deck has to be my favorite deck to play with!

I'm new to this game. Very fun to play. Easy to learn and takes a while to learn how to add scoring points. Very nice quality cards. Takes a while to get used to the card faces being more familiar with standard playing cards but good game, great cards, and worth the money.

The cards look nice and of good quality. However, Amazon did not include the instructions in the shipment. The product page states that they include instructions but if Amazon doesn't deliver them to ask Amazon for them. When I contact Amazon customer service, they had no idea what I was talking about, and I got a total run around. I still don't have the game instructions.
