It's liquid not paste. You can get a good color using them. I will be switching to natural food coloring after I finish with these. In a pinch, I'd buy these again.

Surprised by the quantity for the price! We use it for mostly arts and crafts, but the colors are super pigmented and could very well go a long way for baking!

My mistake thinking these were gel dye but they work very nicely. Color is vibrant, you can adjust it but you need several drops more than gel. If your recipe calls for gel color and you need to add several drops, just add a smidge more flour to equal out the ratio of liquid to solid.
