Skip Hop Toddler Backpack, Zoo Preschool Ages 3-4, Owl

Yes, the backpack is small, but it is the PERFECT size for my daughter who goes to Pre-K. The backpack holds her folder, artwork, snack, drink, sweater, and the occasional library book. Plus, it is SO cute! The best feature is the drink holder on the outside of the bag which has a small elastic cord that slips over the top of the drink and keeps it firmly in place. The cord prevents the cup from slipping out of the pocket and spilling. This design is a stroke of genius. In the past we have used drink holders on bags which did not prevent drinks from slipping out. Some of the spills stained the bag, ruined some of the contents, and once caused mold to grow in the bag. We've been using the Skip-Hop bag for 4 months and have had no spilling problems. I also like that the straps are padded which keeps them from pressing uncomfortably on my daughter's shoulders. The straps are also big enough for me to sling over one of my shoulders when we are using it as a diaper bag. The backpack itself is small enough to slip into the bottom basket of our stroller as well. I am considering buying a second one so that I don't have to constantly switch out the contents when I want to use it as a diaper bag.

I bought this for my daughters 3rd birthday and she Loved, and STILL loves it! The colors are bright and the backpack is very sturdy, durable and still looks brand new a year later. The only downsides are that it is just barely too small to put full sized papers or folders in. This wasn't a big issue at the time and so I didn't worry about it, but there have been times it would have been nice. Also the little side pouch doesn't hold much. You have to tie the cord to get it to actually keep a water bottle in it, but it wasn't hard to jimmy rig and works fine now. Those are honestly my only issues. My kid stuffs it full of toys to take on play dates, its just the right size for all things fun!

I bought the monkey backpack for my pre-schooler and the owl for my 2-year old. It's a tad small for bringing home school projects and the weekly communication folder, so we don't zip it when my pre-schooler has to bring letter-sized or portfolio-sized items home. However, I wouldn't trade it- it holds snacks, a water bottle, gloves, hats, and toy cars. Works really well for school and on the "go." I also use one for my toddler when we didn't need a whole diaper bag. It holds several diapers, a wipes pack, first-aid baggie, extra outfit, socks, a few books, small magnadoodle; plenty of room for snacks, bibs, spoons, and a sippy cup on the side. If it's not too full, she can carry it on her back quite well. Well done, Skip Hop!!

I ordered this for my son to take to daycare. It's the perfect size for a change of clothes, a bib or two, a bottle and some frozen breast milk. It appears very well-made, and so far we haven't had any troubles with it. The colors are vibrant, the zippers are durable, and it's exactly as represented. It's definitely NOT for a school-aged child, but that's stated in the dimensions. I think the only thing I would change is that the tag to write the child's name is on the INSIDE. I think it would make more sense to have the name tag on the back, it would make it much easier to identify. Also, sometimes Skip Hop items can be a little pricey, but I thought the price for this item was perfect!

Super cute little backpack for our extremely energetic toddler. Our child is nearing 2, and we needed something more concise for daycare, rather than our bulky diaper bag. Don't expect a ton of hidden pockets or space, and you'll be satisfied. It's sufficient room for a 2 year old, whether sending to daycare or traveling. There's large main pocket that can hold an extra pair of clothes, diapers, wipes, small blanket, and book (at least). There's also a smaller front pocket with a mesh keeper. We store the pacifier, crayons, small snacks in here. There's also one side mesh pocket that easily holds a small sippy cup. There is no chest strap, which would be a nice addition (I think you can purchase it on another bag or separately). We bought the owl for our daughter, and it's adorable. I recommend this for your little psychopath, erm, toddler :)

I've seen a lot of toddler backpacks at preschool. I think this is one of the better bags, but there are issues. First, it does not contain the similarly-styled lunchbox at all, and latching them together via the top loop is awkward. Second, the side pouches are basically useless for any normal-size water bottle, or really anything since kids tend to toss around their bags. The outer zip compartment is too big to hold little things, and too small to hold a change of clothes or anything useful. The straps are not super comfortable for a kid, and I think a sternum strap would be both fun for a kid, and more comfortable, and likely for them to keep it on for more than a few minutes. The large leaf zipper pull is a nice touch. Having two zippers, so the top can be opened, would have been nice. I think they just didn't really design or test this much or enough on 2-3 year olds. The insulated pouch for snacks -- is NOT insulated. So I think this is better than a lot of alternatives, and it's cute. And you could do well to buy it, but I do NOT love it.

I packed a few toys (potty training stuff too) for a trip we just took. I cannot say enough positive things about these adorable back packs. We got compliments right and left on them. They are the perfect size for our three year olds, they'll be great for preschool and kindergarten too. I wish I would have purchased the matching lunch bag- it would have been sweet. The only thing that I had a problem with was the drink holder, our Playtex sippie cups were a little large. It fit in, but every time the girls bent over, the sippie fell out. But not a big deal. I would highly recommend these sweet little packs.

J'ai acheté ce sac à dos il y a plus de 2 ans pour mon fils (avec le sac isotherme coordonné), et rien à redire, ce sac est juste parfait! Mon fils l'a eu d'abord pour aller chez la nounou, puis il l'a gardé pour sa première année de maternelle, et vu son état actuel je pense qu'il tiendra largement le coup jusqu'à ce qu'il rentre au cp! Mon deuxième petit garçon pourrait meme certainement l'utiliser à son tour (mais étant fan de la marque on en achètera un neuf avec un autre motif!) Forcément à force de le trimballer partout (nounou, école, vacances etc ....) le tissu est usé dans les coins du bas, mais vraiment pas grand chose. La fermeture éclair est pratique et solide, de plus il y a une étiquette pour écrire le nom de l'enfant. En plus Il a la taille parfaite pour la maternelle, de la place pour mettre un doudou, un change, un goûter et un cahier de liaison. Je le recommande les yeux fermés!

I bought this for my toddler for her dance gear. It gets tossed into cars and on to the floor and had definitely help up. We even used it to go on vacation. It's still in perfect shape. I would highly recommend these for small children.

My toddler needed a backpack for her daycare so I bought this because she already has the matching lunch bag. Once it came, she put it on instantly and paraded about wearing the backpack. It was not too big for her small frame and has enough space to put the soem diapers,a change of clothes, small wipes and snacks. Love it!
