We have shopped around for a printer of this type and have found that Fargo DTC1250e Dual Sided ID Card Printer is the overall best in quality and ease of use. the instructions to set up were easy to understand and the actual program to use to create the cards was easy to use. We are very pleased with the printer and look forward to using for years to come. It should be noted that the cards that we are printing are for retired Law Enforcement Officers of both the public and and Military sector, so quality and reliability is a huge plus with the DTC 1250e.

The Fargo printer is fantastic. The color ribbon last a lot longer than I expected. The images are clear and the color looks great. 100% happy with the printer itself. The software is another story.Bogno Bronze Software comes with printer. The software I received with the printer when I bought it was called something different, it was renamed Bogno when it updated earlier this year. Creating a card template is very intuitive and easy. The templates are actually quite good but I created my own for our company. Each template can include the front and back.Some of the weird things that happen in Bogno: - When adding a photo for an ID pic the image will not save the first time. It will work only after selecting the same image once more. - When opening or printing a card the next person in the database's photo will pop up asking for you to verify that it is correct. It doesn't make any sense why this would happen. - The first image of the first card in a template database will pop up for verification when opening a template. - Our software key USB dongle, that comes with this package, stopped working in Windows 10 (which is most likely a window problem, not a USB dongle problem) and causes registration issues. When the USB dongle stops working the software is supposed to go online and verify registration but half the time that doesn't work. You then have to manually click the verify registration online button to make it work. Beware when doing this because your software will restart after it verifies.

Anytime we have needed additional help or questions with our printer, Bodno support is always helpful. Today Rey helped get the program set on our computer and answered some questions. Strongly recommend.

Day 1 ------- 1 StarAll these cards in the photo either have discoloration on both sides or failed to complete during a jam and has the ribbon paper stuck to it.It jammed on 2 brand new cartridges. The first time on the second run and the next time on the 3rd run. That’s ridiculous. I just bought the thing and it can’t even function after its simple setup. Will be requesting a refund.Day 4 (New Update) --------------- 3 starsAfter dealing with a ton of jams from multiple cartridges and using up like 25-30 cards, I FINALLY found a video on how to fix broken ribbon on the cartridges (look up: Repairing a Broken Dye Film by Magicard Ltd on YT).I have canceled my refund because it now consistently prints. The color is brighter on the card from what I see on the software but all you need to do is make it a few shades dark to get the color you are looking for. I am bumping my rating up from 1 to 3. I gave it a 3 because this didn't work right out of the box for me and was a headache to figure out.

I have had this printer for three months and in that time I have gotten two days of viable use out of it. Every single day it jams. It has eaten through and damaged 4 cartridges at this point. I am constantly having to put the cleaning cards through it and am unable to ever get good quality from the first print. This is the worst purchase I have ever made. I highly recommend that you stay away from this ID printer if you are considering it for your business.
