New Age Pet® ECOFLEX® 48" Mojave Reptile Enclosure, Large, Maple

This is absolutely awesome! Extremely well constructed and high quality. Very easy to put together even for someone like me. I have absolutely no patience and I'm not mechanically inclined at all and it was still easy for me to put together. Maybe took me 30 minutes tops. The price for this was unbeatable. You try to buy something like this in a petstore and you are easily paying double. Perfect size too. Just fyi I bought this for my Green Tree Python. Get it, you won't be sorry.

What an amazing cage! It was well priced and came quick. The assembly was the easiest of the cages I've tried so far, no tools necessary! It is incredibly well made and looks sleek and natural in my room! I really have never received a product needing assembly that is so clear and easy, until now. The box is not heavy but also not flimsy. I also found the way the glass was packaged in the center of the package to be very smart, as it kept it safe. The light color makes the daylight bulbs reflect perfectly. Already the cage is keeping temp for my tortoise well. I'm very happy!

First off, I've used other products by New Age Pet/ECOFLEX. They ranged from OK to good and lasted about 3 years before something happened to them. Granted, the products were outside between 100 degrees and single digit days throughout those years, every day, rain, snow or shine. I will note that this PVC tank is a different material than the rest of their products I have used. I personally think the quality of this PVC/Plastic is much better than what I have used in the past by them. Out of all the products that I have used by ECOFLEX, this PVC tank is by far the most solid product I have used by them. I wish I could give this 4.4 stars, but we will go with 4 stars. Is it perfect or 5/5? No. Is it solid, well-built and easy to assemble? Definitely. Pros: - All PVC boards are dual layered with air gaps to help with insulation. Still light weight (Easily under 25 pounds), but has provided great heat retention so far, allowing my lights to run less. This saves money for me and keeps my gecko toasty at night. - Took less than 45 minutes to assembly by myself. If you can RTFM, you should be fine. Be sure not to overtighten or force the screws, you WILL crack the PVC due to the pressure. I learned this the hard way with one of the other products I have used by them. Tighten until it is snug and barely moves, DO NOT push past this point. - 10-year warranty. This is a must for me. Anything that has a long warranty shows the company is willing to stand by their product. I couldn't find any other glass, wood or PVC tank company out there that went past 3 years that was under $400. - The tempered glass doors are thick and heavy (but not too heavy). The locking bracket is simple and effective for my usage. Very well made. Improvements, not deal breakers: - Top of the tank has a thick 2-inch boarder around the mesh area on all sides. While this does increase the strength of the mesh screen and make it look nice, it does remove a lot of real estate for lights. Reducing this to a 1-inch border is a safe compromise. - Locking bracket comes out just a tad too far and presses against the opening glass, causing a slight scratching noise. I bent the locking bracket back towards the glass a bit and it helped. Keep this in mind when installing the bracket. Ensure it doesn’t scratch the adjacent door before sticking it on. - Inner dimensions are almost 1” less than the listed general dimensions of 36”x18”x18”. Outer dimensions are 36.6”x18.6”x18.6”. Inner dimensions are 35”x16.8”x16.8”. So, if you are looking for a tank that is exactly 36”x18”x18” on the inner dimensions, keep this in mind. You lose about an inch on each side due to the thickness of the PVC tank and outer trimming. This is not a deal breaker for me since I have a leopard gecko, and this footprint already exceeds the minimum requirements. If you need a bigger footprint for, say a bearded dragon or the like, I suggest looking at the large 48”/extra-large 60” tank or another PVC brand. Cons: - No grommet or the like on this sized tank (Only on the extra-large - 60"). This is quite a disappointment as it makes it difficult to get temperature/humidity control sensors in the tanks for proper husbandry regulation. A 1-inch grommet on either the left or right side would be perfect for a tank this size. I ended up taking a 3/16th drill bit and widened the edge of one of the side slits (3rd slit down) to put the sensor in. It works this way but shouldn't require me to make fabrications like this to the tank out of the box and risk the warranty for basic needs/requirements for any reptile. - Top of the tank does not open in any way. I wish there was a way to take the top off without unscrewing it completely off to deep clean. - Sliding glass door is LOUD. Luckily my gecko doesn’t care at all for the noise (sees it as me coming to get them or give them something) but boy do my cats put their ears back and give me a weird look… While the guiding system works well to keep the glass in place, I think smoothing out the glass edges and using a different material for the track will help with it. I feel the rubber creates too much friction and creates the high-pitched noise my cats and I hear. - The glass doors were a pain to get in. Even following the directions, getting the second piece of glass was very difficult. Per piece, probably took me the longest out of the whole thing. The first door went in with no problem. The second door would not fully snap into the front rail no matter the angle you tried. I had to loosen the right-side top to lift it up slightly and get the glass to fit in while holding the first glass door on the left. Hopefully you are good at multi-tasking. It was a pain to say the least. Overall, I am happy with the tank with the adjustments I have made for my leopard gecko. I would even consider a second one despite the cons above. However, I think there are small things the company can do from the factory that can significantly improve the product they are creating. I hope to see them take this review and implement some of the suggestions for a better product.

I love, love, love this enclosure. For a fraction of the price compared to others, reptile keepers can get their hands on a nice 4x2x2 PVC/Plastic enclosure. Other places charge an arm and a leg for these things. The only negative was that some of the panels had a couple minor dings and dents plus a scratch or two from the lunk heads at UPS throwing it around. I was initially going to ding 1 star because of this, but now that I've got this thing assembled and have been living with it for the past couple weeks, I absolutely love this thing. Even with the little ding on the top this is still a 5 star product. I am using this for a Central American Boa Imperator, so holding in temps and humidity is important. The screen top isn't ideal for this, and I was kind of counting on needing to purchase something to cover the top up with. Luckily I kept a hold of one of the pieces of Styrofoam that this came packed with. The Styrofoam covers the top screen perfectly acting as insulation. This works perfectly to hold in the heat and humidity! I was able to install a radiant heat panel and some led lights easily. This is my first PVC type enclosure like this. I've used tubs in a rack which work good, but don't look great, and I've used glass aquariums which mostly don't work well for reptiles but look good. This thing looks great, and works wonderfuly. I will probably be buying more of these. I will say, I wish they made larger ones, like 6 or 8 feet long. I would purchase those too if they did!

We ordered this enclosure a few months ago based on another reptile Youtube channel who recommended it. We absolutely loved it. The quality, design and real glass with large viewing area sold us. We are a large family with biological, foster and adopted children who have done Sanctuary type work for over 30 years. We recently moved to a new area, bought land and are building a home and opening up a new base of operations. We needed about 20 of these enclosures to start, with way more likely needed later. I can build enclosures easily but that would take time away from Sanctuary work. When we found these enclosures we knew immediately we found an enclosure we could endorse and at a price point any person, business or family could afford. Most commonly found pet reptiles are found in stores, bought by families and these pets are brought home to live out their lives in tiny glass enclosures, this enclosure WAS the answer giving more space to encourage better husbandry. If anyone is looking to buy this for any deep substrate type reptiles, its still a decent buy. But, if you want this for Bearded dragons, leopard geckos, uromastyx, or any desert type lizard, It would be a terrible buy. First, the new viewing area is small. The old product had a beautiful area to see your animal, now that is gone. We reached out to the company and our hope was they would consider giving both options to consumers, but we were told, no this is the direction they are going. The point of having a pet is to be able to SEE it. In our case we have many special needs lizards born with blindness , missing limbs, the old and the sick, etc and we need to be able to check in on them easily. This enclosure now makes this impossible with a tiny viewing area that makes those horrible glass enclosures sold at big box stores look like the better buy. Second, if you are looking to stack these on a rack as we do, then the higher they go vertically the less you, the pet owner will be able to see your animal. If a person is sitting on a couch say, the tiny viewing area is not seen at all as its too high. Third, we can see this enclosure being challenging to clean. We built this new one and barely could even get into it to put our lizards items. Fourth, the mental well being of more social lizards would be affected by this enclosure. Our lizards WANT to see out. They want privacy at times, but I could never see putting any social animal in this enclosure as it would feel to them, I’m sure..a prison. I hate to write this review on such an excellent enclosure but I wanted to make sure people knew the reality of what they are buying. If the company offered both options then this enclosure would be in my opinion the 1# enclosure on the market in every category. In closing, if you can find the old enclosures, get them. If not, pass. Its just not a great enclosure for the most common pets out there. Update: We put the original NICE big window enclosure side by side with the updated tiny BAD enclosure side by side…the updated BAD enclosure is NOT 24 inches tall anymore, they cut it down over an inch and 1/4. This means if you want to add interior lighting please be advised this is not a true 4 x 2 x 2 anymore. We were told the enclosure was changed to accommodate snake owners but now we think it was a way to cut costs. Update Again…I have decided to raise my review to a 5 star. Everything I said above still applies BUT I chose to purchase 5 more new ones from competitor brand and I STILL love these enclosures more so we have chosen to purchase more of these again. I likely will modify these for our lizards special needs. We also have chosen to drop stacking 3 enclosures and choose to stack just 2 high. We do hope this company offers more options in the future for expansion, bigger sizes and more front glass. In the meantime I plan to rework these enclosures to make them work as we feel they are the best overall enclosure on the market.

Edit to my first 1 star review: The product was not great. And it came damaged a second time. Doesnt come with directions in the box. The website from what I saw doesnt have instructions for the 72, just the 60. All of the pieces line up pretty terribly. Bottom piece is 2 portions joined together and they dont really sit flush in the middle so it will be hard to seal with silicone. The metal posts are supposed to be screwed in with regular screws. The screws do not have actual guide holes. Kinda looks like they just presed a running drill again it to make an indent lol. I bought it cause it was on sale and i would have saved shipping and around 200 bucks vs a KAGEs enclosure. Buy the latter instead. These ones seem to be best when theyre the 4 ft or lower ones. The product itself is gonna be great, I have their 3 fter and i bought this once i saw they had 6 fts available for my bredli python. The reason im putting in the bad review is the shipping packaging. The box has the screen top portion on one of the outside ends with no packing material at all on it. I waited a week, excited for the product, and when I went down to the mail room it looked like the Amazon employee elbow dropped my package before delivering it. The screen top was completely bent, ripped off the rest of the frame and also punctured. Looks like someone slammed the corner of a heavy box right down on it. And there was literally nothing there to protect the wire top.

Great quality for the price! Strong lock and good quality parts I’m in love with it and have no issues so far. Very simple to put together, and very appealing and sleek design.

For some reason I do like these overall. I have purchased 4 of these (1-60 inch and 3-48 inch). What I like the most is that they are very easy to DIY, easy to assemble and empty very easy to move around. I use the 60 as my Beardie's main home. One of the 48's for her TV house. And one 48 for the garage so she can be almost outside watching the world in safety. The other 48 I got for my nephew. Even though I like these enclosures. If you are feeding live feeders and you make your reptile hunt for them. Or if you're going to use a fine substrate like sand. There are several things to think about and plan for if you are going to purchase one. If none of that applies to you then I am sure you will be happy with the enclosure. The 60' does have knockouts in the back for cords. But they do pop off easily so what I did was glue them in with aquarium silicone. The feeder insects if they are too small will escape out the vents and the cracks. The issue with the cracks or seams is if they get in there, they are likely to get stuck and die. So, they will be decomposing inside the walls. Another issue is with sand it will leak through the bottom. On the 60' I also had issues with the two little side windows falling out if my beardie pushed on them. So that all sounds bad I know. But I found solutions to all of my issues and am enjoying these enclosures. First the seams/cracks and things escaping or falling through. I took some aquarium silicone sealant and sealed every single crack/seam I could find. This probably makes it almost waterproof. I did however notice yesterday I missed the top seam, and the little buggers were escaping through there. so, time to seal the top. I purchased precut stainless-steel screen. And then with construction adhesive since my baby can't reach that far to smell them. Glued them on the inside (if you do the outside the bugs can still get inside the wall cavity). For the sliding glass doors, I used child locks and that solves any unauthorized opening. For the glass that was falling out I just sealed them in place. Other things I have noticed after building and using 4 of them is that the screen on top I think should be tighter. It bows down I think too much after putting only 2 double light fixtures on it. I actually took some and just mounted them inside on the 60'. And finally, the issue with my little Zenyo trying to always watch me and what's going on and the deep front panel. Now the depth is great for substrate and my Beardie digging. But she really likes to look outside, and it makes it a challenge for her to watch her TV. So, what I did to solve this is I put about 200lbs of the sand substrate I use and built it up in the front so she can easily look out and watch what she wants. It has worked well but ever couple weeks I do have to reshape it just from activity in the enclosure pushing the sand down. All in all, I kind of look at these as DIY base kits and you're going to spend another $30-40 fine tuning it to your needs. cutting holes is very easy and the grommets fit well in the walls. Will I buy another? Probably not as the 60' is as big as they go. I will likely build my own out of the same materials the company uses. I would prefer to have a walk-in for my Beardie or at least a 96" enclosure as I think that is the max size those panels come in. What would be great is if the company sent a tube of sealer and some screen mesh with the product so that you can modify it for your needs. And since these are so easy to assemble. Given the option of selecting different precut pieces to make your own custom enclosure. I think being able to do that would be awesome and they have the right material to do it. As long as you understand what you are buying, I think they are a good purchase all in all for the price.

This enclosure went together fantastic. It was easy and quick. I hope the plastic screws last but so far so good. It’s an incredible set up for my bearded dragon.

Am in UK and ordered this. So easy do set up very simple now wanted get bigger size.jist bought small size try out. Very happy strong glass and easy setup but my suggestion after set it up I recommend sealing sides aquarium silicone so not get bits of substrate and leak water but over all first class vivarium I wish sold these at shops in UK . I will get anyone future without doubt
