A very good product for dosa
I am worrying this review after using this tawa almost daily for last 2 months. I'm very happy with the product. The dosa are crispy and don't stock to the tawa.Initially I had received a defective tawa but it was replaced and I'm happy with the tawa. Even though it is pre seasoned, you might have to season it again as shown in catalogue. The handle is not of use as it gets heated up and you can't really hold the tawa with handle when hot. It is very heavy in weight. Overall a very good product for your dosa and chilla requirement.Just follow the instruction for care properly.

IT BROKE ON FIRST USE
The product looked premium, it was actually very heavy, what's the use, it broke on the very first use...And it was very costly...

The best quality ever
I was bit skeptical after reading negative reviews but after using it first hand i feel happy for buying it. Initially i thought to buy “Vinod” brand but it is more than twice the prize that Rock offers. Few pointers to answer most commonly asked questions:1. Uneven Heat distribution: it is false, i found my dosas crisp and evenly cooked..just keep it on mid-flame2. Size: (weight my weighing scale: 2.46 kgs) This is the best size for home use...any bigger you might face uneven heat distribution problem due to the size of the burner in normal gas stove and also with size the weight also increases3. Seasoning: follow proper seasoning procedure given...even there are lot of youtube videos available regarding the same. The first couple of dosas might stick but apply bit of oil using a piece of onion after each dosa...it works wondersMy advice: Buy it blindly...no need to go for costly ones...the normal saying “higher the price, better the quality” dont apply here...most cast iron pans in this price range are of same quality.

Perfect
Aftr the initial washing, drying, seasoning methodically over a period of 4 days ...I am able to make perfect dosas.Happy with the product.Price is a bit too high...but for a household that makes dosas practically every week..a tawa of this nature is a must have. The handle could have been insulated with wood ..I have to wrap a thick cloth around the iron handle,to handle it when hot

Rust & heavy weight are spoilers..
Got rusty (handle & surrounding parts) too easily after just 2 weeks; maybe rust free coating on the outside can help. Too heavy for elders to use. Overall usage-wise okRegular Cleaning/maintenance is an even bigger issue. You have to clean it even if not advised or else the oil smell will attract mosquitoes, insects..

Very good tawa
I bought this after thinking for a long time and after reading lot of reviews.. I seasoned the tawa only once as per the instructions and could use it to make dosas straight after first seasoning. I could make both crispy dosas and uthappam like dosas. Also I don't mind applying oil on the tawa once every 2 or 3 dosas as needed. After cooking is done, apply oil and leave it. Before cooking next time, wash with plain water or soapy water as needed and start by applying oil once the tawa is hot
