You won’t regret it! 😉
Maldon Smoked Sea Salt is a game-changer for both cocktail enthusiasts and home cooks. I recently used this salt to rim cocktail glasses at my bar, and it added a sophisticated smoky depth that elevated the drink’s flavor profile, earning compliments from patrons. Its coarse, flaky texture adheres beautifully to the glass, creating a striking visual and taste contrast. Beyond cocktails, I’ve sprinkled it over grilled fish, where its subtle smokiness enhances the natural flavors without overpowering them. The aroma is intoxicating—rich and woodsy, yet clean. I also mixed it into a chipotle sauce, and it brought a perfect balance of smokiness and salinity, giving the sauce a refined edge. This salt’s versatility, quality, and distinctive flavor make it a must-have for any kitchen or bar. Highly recommend!

Best tasting salt. I love this stuff. I wish I could find it at all grocery stores.

Much more subtle than you'd think. Useful in some dishes, not so much elsewhere.
Maldon's regular sea salt is so uniquely good, I bought the 3 pound, restaurant kitchen bucket. As with the regular sea salt, the smoked salt has those lovely characteristic pyramid-shaped crystals. It is light, flaky, and works to great effect, either full-texture or crumbled between your fingertips.I have used smoked salts before, but usually it's hickory or mesquite or something else very distinct and bold tasting. That's not what you're going to get here. I've done tastings of the salt raw, as a seasoning, and as a finishing salt; and it is a *very subtle* smoke flavor. It's oakwood smoked, and you can definitely tell the difference between the regular sea salt and the smoked in both the raw and finishing usage. However, as a seasoning, there's no appreciable difference between them.Bottom line: it's a great finishing salt for delicate nuances, but if you're expecting powerhouse smoke flavor, keep searching.

Super surprised how much I love this!
I once wrote about the regular Maldon and how much I liked it.Well this SMOKED Maldon Sea Salt brings up to a whole new level! I love it!! I'll probably use this more on meats and veggies than the regular. I didn't know if I'd like it. I opened the bag and sniffed it. Hmm, just lije wood fire smoke. Probably great for grilled foods. Then I chopped some garden cherry tomatoes and sprinkled a small amount on them for a test. Wow! They tasted amazing! I highly recommend this!!

Subtle smoky flavor
Large flake salt with nice subtle smoky taste for finishing. However really need to store in another container after you open as plastic bag will not hold up.
