After dealing with melting door pulls for over 3 years I decided to give these a try after the dealer quoted almost $400 to replace. I am mad at myself for not purchasing and replacing these years ago. They fit really good and look great. It took me iver an hour to replace the first one since I was overly cautious and did not want to break anything. The second door took me about 30 minutes. I highly recommend you watch a few videos on Youtube to get an idea of what it entails. I also recommend using a 1/4 drill bit to drill out the plastic rivets.

Won't be able to install the new handle for a few weeks, but I'm just glad my wife won't have to live with the disgusting sticky handle anymore. Disgraceful that BMW can't make touch surfaces that last 6 years. I've removed the door panel previously. The only tricky part is the window switch panel, so installation shouldn't be too difficult. The new tan handle will not match the Venetian Beige interior perfectly, but will be barely visible once installed. I probably missed it in the product listing, but was disappointed that the new handled did not come with hardware.

The product is good, well built, good material. But you can’t install it yourself. Forget it. Unless you have all the proper tools and you have previous ability with mounting doors. If you look at the videos there are two professionals working on it. There are several steps, that if you don’t have the ability and tools you will end up damaging parts. If still you were able to remove the handle cover, remove the screws and remove the whole door panel (in this step you may end up breaking the plastic brackets), then it comes the surprise. The handle is fixed to the door panel with molten plastic from the handle itself. It’s not molten glue, it’s molten plastic. Before I did any damage, I gave up, reassembled the door panel and now I’ll to take it to a professional to handle it. Too bad.
