I use it on my wet hair all of the time! Nothing manages my thick, Uber-curly hair better than this stuff!

That's what it's made for - I think it works AWESOME on dry hair. It de-frizzes my hair and reshapes the curls.

Yes, it does protect your hair from heat, because, among many reasons, it coats your hair with a very generous, strong barrier of mega-moisture from the various subtypes of silicone that are in this. Also, silicone not only moisturizes, it also makes things--anything--glide. Therefore, a flatiron or curling iron will move slightly faster while styling because of this gliding effect. A faster-moving heat-styling tool = a tool that damages less.

Q: Will it serve as a heat protectant?

I can't give you an answer on this one. I don't blow dry my hair. What it does is leaves your hair feeling very well conditioned and soft, without any feeling of a residue being present. If you buy this, and I highly recommend it, make sure that when you first attempt to use it you push up the bottom towards the top. If you don't first do this, you will pump and nothing comes out. This gets things started.Good luck!
