Is there any way for small insects to enter this bin? I live in Hawaii and the flies will get into this if there is an opening.

I have used this bin in my freezer (rather than my countertop) for years to avoid fruit flies and smells. Works like a charm—highly recommend.

Is it pretty east to clean if you don't use a liner?

I have always used a liner, but I have washed it out just as I would any other dish or container with no problems. It is easy to dry and start using right away after washing.

Are there replacement filters available?

To those who answered yes, where do you get them? I could not locate them here or on Wayfair or Walmart. Please answer this.

Well designed product

Good product to collect food waste in kitchen. We cook very frequently and needed something to collect food waste and veg cut offs. It is small enough to fit on windows sill and large enough to collect sizeable waste before I dump them in black bin. Vent at the top helps in keeping everything order less. Build quality is great.
